@SonRebell I do think the system should reward people for consistency though. For someone like me who can play rarely, either due to time or anxiety issues, it means there would be no point. At least with a single event I can fool myself into thinking I have a shot.

@SonRebell So there was a brief moment of time when you could get qualified for stuff by the amount of Planeswalker Points and people went full stupid to game the system and you would see it again. This also kinda eliminates people who can't grind regularly.

@jakeformayor @wildstwawberry A lot of magic artists will do custom tokens. Most I've bought were 20-50 based on complexity. So not free but reasonable. I get them at conventions but some you can likely commission just by messaging. There is still an accessibility barrier but not as big as people think.

@wildstwawberry Pretty much every blue dual has spent a chunk of time as a top deck in legacy and each of them is almost always playable. I think volc has probably been the most consistent over the years because URx delver will never actually die. But UB has always been around as well

@jakeformayor At this point I realize that collector boosters aren't for me anymore and that is 100% okay. The only time I truly resent collector boosters is when I want to buy a pack of whatever is new and the LGS can't get play boosters in stock but they have marked up collector boosters.

@BasicMountain @SaffronOlive That describes me perfectly. I keep wanting to try getting into competitive magic but it is incredibly difficult to justify buying an expensive tier 0 deck that will be banned immediately after. But banning now means it's hard to justify buying the next deck for half a season

@maro254 This is where block structure shines. It doesn't feel like character growth when it is all presented at the same time and when the set release is overshadowed by spoilers for the next 2 sets.

@coL_Amazonian I feel like the only exception I'd make is how mystery booster 2 would occasionally have vanilla creatures in foreign languages. Those are silly and fun. But cards with actual text are obnoxious. Even the secret lairs are annoying because English sells out so much faster.

@GreenSuitGirl What type of deck does god play? It's probably miracles. Filthy control players. Do you have a strategy to beat that deck?
