Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes!! 🥰 Today was pretty quiet bird-wise on the rails, but there was beautiful light and I did get some nice looks at a Pileated Woodpecker. I'm still editing those photos; here's a photo I took of a female Pileated Woodpecker earlier.
If you see this photo of a Wren please leave a comment. 😊
People are usually surprised to learn that they're the most common bird in the UK! 😮😍
When did you last see a Wren? 🐦
Midday sun at 60 degrees north 💛 On the darkest day, there is always light to be found. It can feel hard to find, harder to hold onto, but it is there. To keep and cultivate the light, to carry it into the darkness, is sometimes all that we can do #Shetland#WinterSolstice
PD Barney one of our new recruits.
Barney a digital detection dog has been putting the shifts in.
Another fantastic find by this determined PD.
A phone located hiding underneath the carpet.
Well done team 🐾🐾
Buzzard [Buteo buteo] - photographed at @WWTMartinMere on Friday, there were two calling to each other, not sure if my pics are all the same bird as I couldn't differentiate when going through my photos.
