To our union family and everyone on the Gulf Coast, please, stay safe however you can. When #HurricaneIda clears, the labor movement will be there in the emergency response, at hospitals, in hotels, on power lines, with food distribution—in all ways possible. #1u
Congrats @lizshuler! The AFL-CIO Executive Council yesterday elected Liz Shuler, a visionary leader & longtime trade unionist, to serve as president of the federation of 56 unions & 12.5M members. Shuler is the 1st woman to hold the office in the history of the labor federation.
It is with sorrow we share with you the passing of labor legend, Richard L. Trumka. @AFLCIO President Trumka was an unwavering advocate for workers’ rights. He will be greatly missed. Full statement here: https://t.co/c5qckqMVMr

The #PROAct is the most significant worker empowerment legislation since the Great Depression. Reintroducing the PRO Act, passing it in both chambers of Congress, & getting Biden's signature will increase worker power, rebuild our economy fairly & grow America’s labor movement.
Our woefully outdated labor laws are no longer effective as a means for working people to have our voices heard. The #PROAct will change the power dynamics in America and give working people a real say in our future. Call Senator Blunt and urge him to support the PRO Act.
