The closure report raises serious questions about the manner in which the investigation was conducted. The police had received a pen drive containing video footage allegedly showing the #SexualAbuse of a minor. Yet, after investigating the matter, they filed a Further Action Dropped report citing, among other things, the inability to identify the girl and the absence of usable CCTV/DVR evidence. But why should the absence of corroborative CCTV, by itself, bring a POCSO investigation to an end when the original allegation itself concerned an act allegedly captured on a hidden camera?

CCTV may have been relevant as corroborative evidence, but it was not the alleged source of the video itself. More importantly, the Special #POCSO Court subsequently rejected the closure report and ordered further investigation. Police have since arrested the accused and stated that their subsequent investigation established that the man in the video was Veeramani.

So, what changed between the investigation that resulted in Further Action Dropped and the subsequent investigation that resulted in arrests? The complete investigation record should be examined transparently. @CMOTamilnadu @TVKVijayHQ @BussyAnand @CTR_Nirmalkumar
