We are delighted to have been recently featured by @ESA_EO, showcasing how we leverage cutting-edge hyperspectral satellites and crop growth modelling to equip farmers with the actionable insights they need to manage their crops most effectively
Using hyperspectral satellite data, @MessiumAI has developed a tool to monitor crop nitrogen levels.
Co-funded by the @esa InCubed programme, and making also use of datasets from @Open_Cosmos, the tool gives farmers the insights they need to optimise fertiliser use, helping boost yields while cutting costs and emissions.

Our CTO is in France at a week-long crop science workshop hosted by the Saint Loup Research Institute.
The workshop platforms interdisciplinary knowledge exchange on state-of-the-art plant nutrient analysis across academia and industry, helping strengthen our work in the space.
The Messium team has recently grown with the addition of Benjamin Gorman, Lead Full-Stack Engineer, and Joseph McQuade, Technical Operations Intern. We're delighted to have them on board!
May need to zoom in a bit but interesting to see responses to different nitrogen rates in these Messium trials @Hutchinsons_Ag @HLHNorthernTeam@MessiumAI
Last week the team had a fantastic opportunity to visit the @Hutchinsons_Ag's Helix Yorkshire farm, hosted by @Nick_Wilson3.
We received a farm tour, tried our hand at sampling, learnt about field spectroscopy and had a great lunch in the village! A big thanks to all involved!
Sampling morning this morning. Total of 56 samples of biomass and latest leaf for nitrogen analysis for a company called Messium who are trying to develop a yield prediction tool via satellite to further fine tune N applications. @ClieNFarms
These arrived safely at the lab today! We weighed fresh weights and now they are drying in the oven overnight so we can determine dry weights tomorrow. Then we mill them into a fine powder and analyse them on a CE analyser to measure the total N %.
We are delighted to have been featured in a press release highlighting the exciting work we are doing as part of the Enabling Technologies Programme. We'd like to thank the @spacegovuk for their continued support as we work to eradicate waste from the agriculture sector.
We’re funding innovative space tech with £1.8 million. 🚀
From measuring shifting shorelines to medicine production in space, the funding will support 9 UK projects that are harnessing space to improve life for everyone on Earth. 🌍
