What a breathtakingly intense and historic week here in Singapore! As the government officially kicked off #ATxSummit 2026, bringing together global tech leaders alongside Minister Josephine Teo (Ministry of Digital Development and Information), the defining narrative of human technology future is being written right now.
🇪🇺 🤝 🇸🇬 The Prelude: EU-ASEAN AI Standards Workshop (May 19)
Ahead of the main summit, I was honoured to be invited to speak at EU-ASEAN AI Standards Workshop, which has brought together senior regulators, policymakers, standards experts and industry from across ASEAN and the EU for a morning of genuinely substantive conversation.
It was an incredible honour to share the stage with global pioneers in digital governance to dissect what the EU AI Act truly means for ASEAN’s regulatory reality:
🎤 Panel Moderator: Kelly Forbes (President, AI Asia Pacific Institute)
🗣️ Fellow Panellists:
Sharmini Melissa Johnson(Senior Manager, AI Governance, IMDA)
@HenryWang2021 (Co-founder, @singaporeigf & @LingoAI_io )
Sigit Jarot (ICT Standardisation Expert, GIST Project)
The panel covering what the EU AI Act means for regulators, industry and standards bodies across the region. By the end of the workshop we had a shared picture of where the real friction points lie between EU standards frameworks and ASEAN regulatory realities. That map will feed directly into the workshops ahead, and into the work of building an ASEAN Standards Champions Network across the region.
The workshop opened with introductory remarks from Nigel Hee, followed by a welcome from Benoit Sauveroche, First Counsellor at the Delegation of the European Union to Singapore, and an opening address from Emilio Davila Gonzalez, Head of ICT Standardisation at the European Commission's DG CONNECT.
Kim Skov Hilding, Secretary of CEN-CENELEC JTC 21, delivered a keynote on the technical standards architecture underpinning the EU AI Act. Scott Cadzow, Chair of ETSI TC SAI, took us into technical specifications in practice: data quality, robustness, and transparency as technical requirements, and what this means for jurisdictions outside the EU seeking alignment.
I had good discussions with Sang Hao Chung, Deputy Director (AI Governnce and Safty) IMDA and AI Verify Foundation, Prof. Stuart Russell, A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research hashtag#MERaLion team, and AI Singapore team on AI governance and data Sovereignty.

Building AI and predicting its economic impact are two different disciplines. @ylecun is right to point toward the experts who study institutional change. The goal shouldn't be to "wipe out" entry-level roles, but to use Web3.0 and AI to return data rights to the creators. When professionals own the intelligence they help train, the labor market finds a new, more equitable equilibrium. This is what @LingoAI doing, and why @HenryWang2021 and @UnaWCX cofounded @LingoAI_io
@LingoAI_io Strong AI progress accelerates centralization of control. It’s tough for global majority to make a living soon if the centralized internet structure prevails. Looking forward to working with @LingoAI_io to provide effective help to Global majority.
$55 billion in AI investment committed across Southeast Asia.
Here is where it actually goes.
Singapore: $10 billion.
→ Governance hub. AI rules written here.
→ Standards set here. Intellectual value stays here.
Malaysia: $23.2 billion.
→ Data centres. R&D. Semiconductor supply chains.
→ NVIDIA, Qualcomm, SAP building here.
→ The physical infrastructure of AI. Built here.
Vietnam: First country in SEA with a standalone AI law.
→ Manufacturing. Production.
Talent pipelines. → The making of AI. Happening here.
Indonesia: $7.4 billion.
→ The largest economy in Southeast Asia.
→ Gets the smallest share of the four.
→ Gets: users.
The AI is built elsewhere. The infrastructure owned by others.
The data flowing out.
The value compounding somewhere else.
And the gap underneath all of this?
81% of Indonesian companies say poor data quality is their biggest AI barrier. (Digital in Asia, 2026)
600,000 IT professionals.
280 million people. (SecondTalent, 2026)
One IT professional for every 467 Indonesians.
Indonesia isn't losing the AI race because it doesn't want to win.
It's losing because it built an economy that consumes AI instead of one that captures it.
The chicken is sitting on the rice.
The eggs are being laid in Kuala Lumpur.
Indonesia doesn't have an adoption problem.
It has an ownership problem.
The companies that will change this aren't waiting for the next hyperscaler announcement.
They're building AI into operations they own. On data they control.
Compounding an advantage nobody else can replicate.
@LingoAI_io helps you to own your data and AI.
This is a Data Monetisation Opportunity!

From Data Serfs to Semantic Sovereignty: @UnaWCX’s Manifesto
Una Wang, Co-founder and CEO of @LingoAI_io , painted a striking vision: as AI and robotics reshape the labor market, "earning by data" will gradually replace "earning by labor."
Over the next 20 years, the explosion of AI will replace most current jobs—the original intent of AI development. However, Una warned that no nation is prepared for a 50% or higher unemployment shock yet. "This is an epic tsunami, the greatest social upheaval in history. We cannot rely on AI oligarchs for a universal basic income. Personal data is an individual’s most vital asset; it is the source of stable income once labor is no longer required."
She demonstrated how LingoAI utilizes OpenClaw to automate LingoAI in the de-identification of sensitive medical data, allowing individuals to monetize their data safely under privacy protection. But first, she argued, we must transition from "Data Serfdom" to "Semantic Sovereignty."
1. The "Walled Garden" Trap: Currently, personal chat logs and health data are treated as "raw waste." Ironically, storage is a cost center; you pay to store data you cannot use, while giants use it as raw material to harvest you.
2. Mining the 95% "Dark Data" Iceberg: Una warned of "Digital Inbreeding" or Model Collapse, where models trained on previous AI outputs deteriorate. The true frontier lies in the 95% of "dark data" dormant in private storage and medical records. Through local @OpenClaw 🦞deployment, LingoAI acts as a bridge to enrich your personal ontology.
3. Semantic Labeling for ROI: Reclaiming data isn’t enough; it must be transformed into AI-understandable assets via Semantic Labeling. A personal Agent trained on a private ontology is exponentially more accurate in understanding specific logic (such as Web3.0 terminology) than a public LLM.

Yesterday, @moovexyz hosted a partnership event led by their ambassador @InvestorUsman , bringing together meaningful conversations across the ecosystem.
What stood out is that @LingoAI_io was part of those discussions not from noise, but from the value being built over time.
We’re still early in our journey, still building step by step, but moments like this matter. They show that real work eventually finds its way into the right rooms.
Big respect to the Moove ambassador for facilitating the conversation, and to @moovexyz for consistently creating space for builders and projects to connect 🤝
And for @LingoAI_io we keep building. The recognition is just a reflection of the direction we’re heading.
More to come
@leslie_31324@LingoAI_io@UnaWCX@HenryWang2021 The problem is quite brain-burning. I think who ultimately in control depends on whether we work together on AI governance correctly today.
