@PaulAnleitner It was at this moment I knew the movie would not be anywhere near as good as it should be. It shows the director’s fundamental misunderstanding of tone and humor. I remember in an interview about this scene where he said something like “Star Wars has always had humor” 😖
@edwardbrgr Th Dark Knoght trilogy aside, DC was a mess long before Snyder took the helm. Superman Returns? Green Lantern? Lantern was ACTUALLY supposed to be the start of the shred universe.
@BanshG44252@JamesPrescott77 I was just going to say this. Other points can be argued, but “coming out at night” is the biggest reach. Also, not sure why all of the haters just KEEP TALKING about a film they think is inferior? Weird.
@BlackMajikMan90@McCoyGenfan That’s the point though; there was no vision because BvS (and SS) were compromised with studio cuts, and JL was drastically altered.; his vision failed because it never came to fruition. WB shifted gears prematurely. Marvel wave 1 was similar - they just stayed the course. 🤷🏼♂️
@BlackMajikMan90@McCoyGenfan Pretty sure Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman came after this and (like it or not) were considered pretty successful, so, no…? And yes, SS was deemed a financial and cultural success, just not a critical one. WB screwed the universe by changing gears midway.
@x0Starlight Truth? Neither are 100% accurate; both employ different elements of the varied interpretations from over the years. Guess you are not manly enough to realize this, huh?
@thelilmosquito The other two movies work. This one? Not so much. His fights have always been terrible though, and this one is worse because of the daylight.
@DarthFeanor Don’t love this movie, and it’s certainly not cinema, but this scene was the best part and is far better at demonstrating Superman’s flaws than any other part of the film.
@Mandevil23 I’m not a fan of the new Superman movie, but her Lois is probably the best theatrical version we’ve ever gotten. I liked her portrayal a lot.
