"Enjoying the game and letting things come to me ... I know how great of a player I am, and I don't need to force anything."
New York @Mets infielder Mark Vientos is poised to get back—and play like a kid again.
He chats with @CameronManna about his time in Binghamton in 2021 alongside Ronny Mauricio and Brett Baty, his relationship with infield coach Jake Hager, and what he hopes to accomplish the rest of this season.

My wish to #Mets fans is I hope they’ll someday experience the awesomeness of real baseball - when players wanted to win, were loyal to their teams, and hated their opponents with a passion … rather than smiling buddy buddy with the enemy during a 7-game losing streak. #Lindor
Lindor chatting it up with the guy who could not wait to get off our team?
Why am I not surprised...
Call me old school. If you are not with us, you are against us. Something that is lost in baseball in 2026
Also I’m not one to blame coaches and managers when you’re getting shut out by the A’s. But let’s just fast forward to the firing of Mendoza and let Beltran take over. It’s inevitable so might as well get this shit rolling
Am I the only one that thinks trading for Freddy Peralta seems a bit pointless at this point?
Giving up any serious assets for a guy with an expiring deal when you’re light years away from a team in your own league feels irresponsible at this point.
I’m just not sure that any moves out there at this point can make this team viable contenders for 2026, may as well give the young guns extended runs and see what you have
For eveyone trying to make themselves feel better and wanting to argue with me about my Pete Alonso Tweet, The Pete Alonso slander never makes sense? Since 2019 he’s stacked 264 homers and over 700 RBIs with multiple 30 plus homer seasons and back to back 162 game seasons!
Just last Year when everyone was Thinking Vientos could be his replacement of the future.......the man hit .272 with 38 bombs 126 RBIs and an .871 OPS. That’s elite production and elite durability. He is already the Mets all time home run leader, third in franchise RBIs and third in slugging percentage.
Stop acting like this is replaceable. Argue with ya momma!
A homegrown Met, a fan favorite, the player who coined "LFGM," one of the best sluggers in the game... and the richest owner in baseball lets him go to the Baltimore Orioles.
You wanted to change the perception of the Mets? You did. We are more of a laughingstock now than ever.
@InMetsWeTrust Everyone wants a change of “core” now the Mets will not be competitive next year and who knows how many years after so GOOD JOB !!! Lost so
Much offensive production this offseason and still have no pitching!!!!
@TonyMetroMLB This is a terrible take. Build a good team around the core and we’ll be fine. The “core” you state is the only reason we were competitive and a growing franchise. Stearns ruined this franchise with his stupid small market thinking
@bleednucksblue It was never the core. It was the wilpons not wanting to spend to win. Now we sign Soto and have good offense and David Stearns wants a bunch of pitchers who have nothing to offer
