@BlakeSNeff That's actually our Governor, which is not the legislative branch of NJ's government. While I didn't vote for her, she's ours so back off talking about things you know nothing about, and especially comparing her looks to Kamala. Racist AND sexist.
On this Mother’s Day let us ask the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Our Blessed Mother, to intercede for all mothers and for all if her children.
“Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen”
A CALL FOR HOLY REPARATION: We waited till the IDF itself confirmed the authenticity of this before reposting. Now that is has, let this photo sink in. This act of aggression towards Christians by the 1948 State of Israel is not a one off isolated incident. Wake up America. In fact it was only a few weeks ago that the Latin Patriarch, Cardinal Pizzaballa was refused entrance into the Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday of all days.
Make no mistake. To be our "greatest ally" you cannot be an enemy of America's "greatest friend." As a Christian country that "greatest friend" of America is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This goes for the 1948 State of Israel just as much as it does for Muslim countries who slaughter Christians in the thousands.
On our knees before Christ the King crucified, we humbly ask forgiveness for our own sins and for the evil act of this IDF soldier.
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23
Trump doesn't understand Catholics.
This is Trump’s blind spot:
Trump’s financial and political successes are rooted in a personality cult surrounding the TRUMP brand. Even his preferred religious leaders are appointed solely because they are loyal to Trump first.
Trump has failed to understand that Catholics have a greater allegiance to their Pope in Rome. Trump cannot compete with the Pope. Even when a Pope is mid-tier, Catholics will defend their Pope. Pope means “pop” or “dad” and while we may see flaws in our dad, he's still our dad.
Historians will mark Trump’s attack on the Pope as one of the primary events that led to his downfall and the downfall of the Republican Party. The Midterms will be ugly.
2025-2026 was a triumphant year for Catholics with the first American Pope ever and a record-breaking increase in Easter conversions.
Trump chose the absolute worst moment to throw darts at the Pope, publish profanity on Easter Sunday, and post himself as a “red cross doctor with glowing hands.”
Trump cooked himself. He should have celebrated an American Pope and harnessed all the exuberant Catholic energy moving into 2026. But Trump shares the stage with no one. Instead, he attacked the one American who is more powerful and more popular than himself: the American Pope.
Trump was blinded by his own (declining) aura.
I stand with the Pope. He is not a political leader, he is the vicar of Christ reminding us of the Gospel. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.” Matt 5:9
You are only a man @realDonaldTrump , and someday you will stand before our Lord Jesus Christ. You claim our Holy Father @Pontifex is weak, but it takes more strength to do what one should rather than simply what one wants. You intervened in Venezuela under the pretext of stopping drugs and criminals from entering our country, and under Nicolás Maduro you described the regime in terms of narco-terrorism. My qualm is the name games you play. Do you think you can simply legitimize actions by denoting terminology to suit your interest? This you did.
In the same way, you and Benjamin Netanyahu undermine the true meaning of justice through continued acts of unconscionable war crimes, all in the name of “self-defense.” But with the Lord, there will be no altering of words and their meaning; all that will be left is the truth of what really happened. You call the Holy Father weak because he calls for peace? What is weak is bombing children in Gaza in the name of national interest. What is weak is saying this is God’s country, yet by your actions you act as an enemy of the cross.
It is a shame that, in many respects, the COVID situation could have been handled better by the Church, but do you not consider the blunder of Operation Warp Speed? To this day, questions and debates about the long-term effects of the vaccines remain, and this was under your authority, so pluck the splinter out of your own eye.
Inspired by Christian charity, I implore you, repent. We are Christ first, not MAGA first. Our first allegiance is to God and His Kingdom. Are you God first or MAGA first? If God first, why do some of your actions betray that truth? If you come after the Church and the Holy Father @Pontifex_de, don’t think I’ll be silent. I only fear God.
With all due respect to the Office of the President, this post contains several claims that are factually inaccurate and theologically misguided, and as a Catholic I feel compelled to respond.
1. The Pope was not elected to please any president.
Pope Leo XIV was elected by 133 cardinals from across the world in a sacred conclave, on the fourth ballot, on May 8, 2025.
The Holy Spirit guides the conclave, not American politics.
To suggest that “if I wasn’t in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican” is not only historically ignorant but theologically offensive to every Catholic on earth.
2. He was not an unknown outsider.
Pope Leo XIV served as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops under Pope Francis, one of the most powerful roles in the Vatican, responsible for selecting bishops for dioceses worldwide.
He was one of the most qualified candidates in the College of Cardinals.
3. He is deeply rooted in service, not politics.
An Augustinian missionary who worked for decades in Peru, Pope Leo XIV dedicated his life to the poor and the Gospel long before any political figure noticed him.
His name honors Leo XIII, the Pope who championed workers’ rights and the poor during the Industrial Revolution, a tradition of Catholic Social Teaching that predates any modern political party.
4. The Pope’s role is prophetic, not partisan.
When the Pope speaks on peace, nuclear weapons, immigration, or the dignity of nations, he is fulfilling the mission of Christ, not opposing any government.
His first words as Pope were “Peace be with you all,” echoing the Risen Christ (John 20:19).
A Pope who is silent on injustice would be failing his divine mandate.
5. Demanding a Pope “get in line” with a president contradicts 2,000 years of Church history.
From St. Peter before Nero, to St. Thomas More before Henry VIII, to John Paul II before Soviet communism, the Church has never existed to validate earthly power.
“We must obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)
As Catholics, we pray for all leaders, including President Trump.
But we stand firmly with our Holy Father.
Habemus Papam. And he answers to God alone.
Only weak, evil men attack the Vicar of Christ @Pontifex
Trump a disgrace of a President @POTUS
ALL CATHOLICS should immediately step down from this CATHOLIC-HATING administration.
You cannot serve two masters.
A STATEMENT ON LEBANON: A CRY FOR THE INNOCENT
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
My heart is heavy as I look toward Lebanon – a land long marked by faith, suffering, and perseverance.
Lebanon is not merely another nation in conflict. It is home to one of the oldest and largest Christian populations in the Middle East, where the name of Jesus Christ has been professed continuously since the earliest centuries of the Church. In that sacred land stands the shrine of St. Charbel Makhlouf, a humble monk whose life of prayer, penance, and Eucharistic devotion has borne extraordinary fruit. Known as the “miracle monk of Lebanon,” countless souls have testified to God’s healing through his intercession – a sign that even in suffering, God has not abandoned His people.
And yet today, Lebanon bleeds.
Reports continue to emerge of relentless bombardment in densely populated civilian areas – families, children, the elderly – lives shattered without warning. What we are witnessing is not simply warfare, but a grave assault on human dignity. The deliberate targeting or reckless endangerment of innocent life is never justified. NEVER.
The Church has always been clear: War itself is a tragedy – but the intentional harming of civilians is a moral evil that cries out to Heaven.
We must not grow numb to images of destruction. We must not allow political narratives to dull our conscience. Every child killed, every home destroyed, every mother weeping over her son – this is not abstract. This is human suffering. This is Christ crucified again in His people.
Lebanon has already endured decades of instability, economic collapse, and the exodus of Christians from the region. To strike this nation again – especially in ways that devastate civilian life – is to deepen wounds that may take generations to heal.
I call upon all leaders involved to remember this: power does not grant moral permission. Military strength does not justify the loss of innocent life. There can be no lasting peace built upon the graves of the defenseless.
And to the faithful, I say this: do not remain silent in your hearts. Pray. Fast. Offer sacrifice.
Pray for the people of Lebanon. Pray for the conversion of those who wield power without mercy. Pray for true peace – not the fragile silence of ceasefires, but the peace that comes from justice rooted in truth.
Through the intercession of St. Charbel Makhlouf, may God bring healing to the wounded, comfort to the grieving, and repentance to those who act without regard for the sanctity of life.
And may we never forget: Every human life is sacred, from conception to natural death, in every nation, without exception.
In Christ Our Hope,
Bishop Joseph E. Strickland
Bishop Emeritus
One of my favourite things about the Catholic church is that no matter what country I'm in, there's a space where I'm welcomed, and I know the service by heart. The Mass may sound different but feels exactly the same.
That's how I know that I am home.

Good morning,
As many of you know, we love our New York Mets, but one thing comes before everything here at Met Cast, and that is being dedicated to Christians.
Today is all about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. One day, we shall all dwell in His kingdom.
HE IS RISEN!
Happy St. Joseph’s Day. This is a beautiful prayer, urging his quiet intercession:
O blessed Sleeping Saint Joseph,
guardian of silence and hidden miracles,
I come to you today with an open heart, burdened by an urgent need that only heaven can resolve.
You who, in your rest, receive divine messages and make the impossible possible, hear my plea in this moment of distress.
Saint Joseph, loving and protective father,
I entrust to you this situation that troubles me, this problem I do not know how to resolve.
(Mention your petition)
Just as God revealed His will to you in dreams,
I ask you to intercede for me and present my need before Him.
I place this concern under your care, trusting that even as you rest, heaven is at work on my behalf.
May every difficulty be transformed into a solution,
may every obstacle be removed,
and may peace return to my life.
Sleeping Saint Joseph,
cover me with your protection, guide my steps, and open paths where I now see only uncertainty.
I trust in your silent power, your steadfast faith, and your fatherly care.
For I know that what I place in your hands today
will, by God’s grace, become a miracle tomorrow.
Amen.
Saint Joseph is the example of TRUE masculinity.
He is the example every men should follow, especially fathers.
Saint Joseph embodied obedience, justice, chaste love, creative courage and PROTECTIVE guardianship
>Obedience & Faith: Joseph is praised for his immediate, trustful obedience to God’s commands, even when they were difficult or involved risk.
>Just & Righteous: Described as a "just man," he was perfectly upright in his dealings with God and others.
Chaste & Pure: He is recognized for his pure love and dedication to Mary and Jesus, acting as a guardian of purity.
>Creative Courage: Pope Francis highlighted this virtue, noting how Joseph transformed difficult situations (like the flight into Egypt) into opportunities to protect and care for his family.
>Diligent Worker & Provider: As a tekton (builder/carpenter), he embodies the dignity of labor, working diligently to support his household.
>Humility & Silence: Joseph is known for his quiet, unpretentious demeanor, never needing to be the center of attention but always ensuring his family was safe and supported.
>Protector (Terror of Demons): He is considered a strong protector and guardian of the Church, using his strength to defend the vulnerable Child.
>Patience & Tenderness: He exemplified patient endurance in times of uncertainty and tender love towards Jesus and Mary.
And now his intercession is a powerful tool for any father. His quiet authority in Heaven is believed to be so great that his requests are granted with the same respect he received as the head of the household on earth.
The man who never spoke a word is called the Terror of Demons.
In the entire Bible, St. Joseph never speaks a single word. He is silent but he acts.
He wakes up at midnight to flee to Egypt. He protects the Virgin. He raises the Son of God. His title in the litany is Terror Daemonum (Terror of Demons). Why?
Because Satan fears silence. Satan fears the man who does his duty without complaining, without bragging, and without hesitation. St. Joseph is the model of the interior life. This makes him the perfect spiritual weapon in quiet spiritual combat.
In the age of fatherlessness & impurity we need the spirit of St Joseph more than ever.
Our modern world is plagued by weak men, broken homes & the collapse of fatherhood. St. Joseph is the antidote to the age.
St Joseph, Terror of Demons, pray for us!
