Amongst all the scary environmental news, here is a rare glimmer of hope and progress.
We must remember to celebrate the wins so here's some 🍾 and ❤️ to the #StopEcocide team who have been pushing this for a decade. And to the late, great Polly Higgins who kicked it all off.
ICYMI: The EU has become the first international body to criminalise wide-scale environmental damage, including habitat loss and illegal logging.
This is a huge step to #StopEcocide and could lead to new environmental protections 🌳

I always enjoy reading about the time and effort it takes to make a documentary. It took 7 years for this very experienced team to complete 'Invisible Nation' about Taiwans first female president. Though the delay is agonising, the story usually benefits.

There's a lot to celebrate about this news, but what made me smile the most is that Stella McCartney styled the defendants, lending them shirts, blazers and suits to wear during the trial. 🩵

Really enjoyed taking part in this conference on climate journalism organised by the @ArenaClimate team.
Thanks so much for convening such an inspiring group of people and topics.
Today I can share I'm challenging the PM on the legality of abandoning key Net Zero commitments
I believe the timeline for the UK to meet Net Zero cannot be changed at will by the PM – I contend that he does not have the legal right
The ball is in your court , Prime Minister
I am running for truth and justice as a presidential candidate for the People’s Party to reintroduce America to the best of itself - fighting to end poverty, mass incarceration, ending wars and ecological collapse, guaranteeing housing, health care, education and living wages for all!

@1goodtern I appreciate the persistent information service! I would love to see your inquisitive mind at work on finding solutions too. What are the pathways to change? The best places to apply pressure? Who’s doing that? How do we protect ourselves - apart from masking and eating veggies?
“Stuart has confounded some during his short tenure as climate minister with claims that a fresh round of oil and gas licensing are “good for the environment”.” https://t.co/qYOiIEaHa6
@guardian Soooo schools don’t want to be reduced to a ‘blunt’ one-word evaluation because it’s stigmatising, but repeatedly reducing children to a one-letter mark is ok?
@MrMatthewTodd I wish parents wouldnt be expected to carry the burden and responsibility for the climate crisis more than everyone else. Parents are tired. Help us out. We don’t have a monopoly on caring. No one arrived on this planet without some sort of family, - even if just biological.
In an A and E department of a Liverpool hospital, people are lying in pain on the floor, waiting hours to be seen by a doctor
This is a daily reality of the NHS crisis
