@sowore But you don't pay any of those following you around, even those that cook & clean for you, N500k per month.
None of your office clerks earns N500k per month from you or you don't think you should live by example?
This is some absolute prime-ministerial fiery speech from Kemi earlier today. This was such a joy to watch.
In Nigeria,
Where you have Akpabio and his Gang of 100 morons running the National Assembly, this is what an intelligent legislature looks like.
Whatever you are facing, take it to God. He is the only one who can truly help.
Think about David and Goliath. That victory was not by strength. It was by God. When David released that stone, God settled the battle.

My profound condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Nollywood star @AlexxEkubo , who I understand passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. I never met him personally, but I still cannot forget a movie of his I watched on an Emirates flight from New York to Dubai en route to Nairobi. He was a rare talent whose presence lit up the screen effortlessly. May he rest in power!
Today, I pause.
Not in ceremony, not in fanfare, but in quiet gratitude to God for this gift of life. Another year has turned, and with it comes the weight of reflection that only time brings. I am reminded, more than ever, that life is not measured in the years we are given, but in the purpose we pour into them.
I am reminded of leadership and its true essence, the mandate of my people, which I hold dear, and the journey through it all.
On this day, my heart turns especially to the good people of Bende Federal Constituency, my home, my foundation, my anchor. Your belief in me has never wavered. Your prayers have carried me into rooms that ambition alone could not have opened. Your love has sustained me through moments of pressure that public life rarely reveals. I am because you are. Whatever I have accomplished in this season of leadership belongs, in no small measure, to each of you and not to anyone else.
As I mark another year, I renew my commitment to you, to our nation Nigeria, and to the ideals that have guided my path: integrity in leadership, empathy in governance, and a strong belief that our best days are still ahead.
The work continues. The call remains. And I am profoundly grateful, deeply humbled, for the grace to answer it.
Happy birthday to me.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
My dear people of Surulere Constituency I,
I greet you all with profound respect and gratitude.
A few days ago, I obtained the nomination form to seek a return mandate to the Lagos State House of Assembly to represent Surulere Constituency I. I write to formally inform all residents, workers, political associates, leaders, stakeholders, and the good people of Surulere of this decision.
This step is born out of my continued commitment to serve, to consolidate the progress we have made together, and to further advance our collective aspirations. I remain deeply grateful for the trust, encouragement, and solidarity you have shown me over the years.
By the grace of God, my return to the House will confer ranking status on our constituency. In a system where experience is recognized, this position will attract greater attention and benefits for our people.
To our party leaders in Surulere Local Government, ward executives, community leaders, youth groups, women’s associations, and all stakeholders across Lagos State and beyond: I sincerely appreciate your unwavering support, guidance, and belief in our shared vision.
I appeal to all my supporters to remain calm, steadfast, and focused. Let us continue to uphold peace, unity, and respect as we move forward on this journey together. Our strength has always been in our togetherness, and I am confident that the same spirit will see us through.
I do not take your support for granted. Together, we will continue to build a stronger Surulere and contribute meaningfully to the development of Lagos State.
Thank you all. May we continue to move forward in unity and purpose.
Signed,
Hon. Desmond Olushola Elliott
Member representing Surulere Constituency I
Lagos State House of Assembly
Fellow Nigerians, good morning.
I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you.
Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances.
We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal.
More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism.
We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power.
Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise.
Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them.
However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.
Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated.
And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions.
There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline?
Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from.
Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
'ADC is a condemned vehicle', declares Rep. Leke Abejide in a TVC interview. "I have decided to change the broken bricks in the ADC and become a cornerstone in a better political party with a strong structure that will benefit my people,” he told a news conference earlier.
No wonder the desperate political nomads, Peter Obi and others, are preparing to 'Japa' to another SPV.
Big moment for Lagos and the APC.
Congratulations to Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat on emerging as our party’s Consensus Governorship Candidate. Your years of loyalty, consistency, and service have rightfully earned this mandate.
I remain committed to support the re-election of our Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
This is a call to stay united, disciplined, and focused on our collective progress. Our commitment to the party remains unwavering, fully aligned with the leadership and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Now, the focus is simple: to secure victory and advance a more prosperous Lagos and Nigeria.
"The so-called Ibadan summit is a ruse. It was an assemblage of individuals, not ten political parties. For parties to meet, there must be prior authorisation from their NWC or NEC. Without that, it is simply a gathering of individuals.
"If they now claim that ten political parties met to gang up against one party, it contradicts their earlier narrative. It shows that the political space remains open, but they lack the strength to compete individually"---APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru in an interview with TheNation
Today, I am honoured by the endorsement of my Governor, my brother and my friend, HE Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
His trust means a great deal to me. We’ve worked side by side in the service of Lagos State, and I don’t take this vote of confidence lightly.
I remain committed to building on the progress we’ve made together, and look forward to serving Lagosians with integrity, focus and a clear sense of purpose.
I Declined the Ibadan “Opposition Summit” Nigerians Deserve a Genuine Alternative, Not Recycled Failure
I was invited to attend the so-called “Opposition Summit” in Ibadan, but I declined.
There is no need to pretend that the same men (and a few women) who held Nigeria to ransom for years, presiding over stagnation, corruption, and systemic decay, can suddenly reinvent themselves as champions of progress or defenders of the people.
Not all Nigerians are suffering from amnesia.
For the avoidance of doubt, our revolutionary party, the African Action Congress (@aacparty ), will not be part of any charade designed to recycle failed political actors under the guise of “opposition.”
Instead, we are committed to presenting a formidable, people-driven alternative, one rooted in integrity, accountability, and genuine transformation.
We will mobilize Nigerians across the country to rally behind a credible vision that rejects the decadence and deception represented by both the @OfficialAPCNg and their opportunistic counterparts in ADC, PDP, Labour Party and elsewhere
Nigeria does not need a rearrangement of the same broken pieces, it needs a complete break from the past.
