Really wonderful start to the MSA #migrations conference in Chicago talking about Transnational Radio research with this great crew! @Mezzosoph @carolinekita @debraraecohen Jessica Berman and Julie Cyzewski 📻🎧🔊@msatweet
An amazing resource for music scholars -- the musical collection of the Radio Rurale de Kayes in Mali (nearly 500 pieces/songs!) is now available online, thanks to the painstaking work of @satoumbodj and her team
@LeahLibresco FWIW, I think it really is a crackdown on resales. They are providing complimentary premium memberships for people who purchased directly from them. Their communications to customers explicitly mention using for subsequent kids. They can renege on their offer later, of course...
Interested in #radio & #decolonization? Please join us at the @UofDenver July 10-12 for our @NEHgov funded conference: https://t.co/ZwBFpEltRH. Free & open to the public! Interdisciplinary presentations from #history#literature#media studies & more!
@joshshepperd There are many alternatives that you won’t regret skipping Versailles. Monet’s garden & house stunning & short train. tons of amazing must-see museums in the city: d’Orsay, Cluny, Sainte Chapelle, Orangerie, Louvre (obv). Underrated imo is musee of the city of Paris.
@joshshepperd V is worth seeing once, if only for the spectacle. Feels a bit like Disney— the restorations are sponsored by luxury brands. Prepare for massive crowds (try to buy tix in advance). The gardens are beautiful and can calm you after the crush of the interior. That being said…
A devastating loss for all of us at @Princeton@PULibrary@PrincetonRBSC. Will Noel made the riches of the library come to life for countless students.

@fifigrowswild Almost any recipe that calls for water tastes yummier with broth! Can use it to replace wine if you don't have any to cook with, too. Replace pasta water, steam veggies, etc. I even heard of someone making popsicles. Apparently the fruit masks the taste. Haven't tried that one...
@alexcowan2 Someone gifted me a Kirkland brand (Costco) suitcase for my high school graduation and it is still working great all these years later; I also bought this one a few years ago when I was flush with research funds and it has held up well https://t.co/Y3sTtjl2jJ
@joshshepperd It's definitely possible! I also like Canal Saint-Martin (10th). Lots of nightlife near Bastille. If you want quiet at night strategize accordingly. I lived near rue Saint-Maur metro and it was calm & residential. There are so many great parts of Paris, you can't go wrong!
@joshshepperd Check out @LeFooding (owned by Michelin) and the substack newsletter Paris by Mouth for good restos and boulangeries. LeFork is a platform like open table that you can use to book reservations
@joshshepperd Another good option is the Marais (2nd/3rd -- Old Jewish quarter). Good food, closer to center. For proximity to museums, the 5th/6th/7th or the 16th will be your best bets. But those areas are pricey! Food in that area is expensive and not always good imo
@asvokos https://t.co/YKEL917QRO has completely changed the way we cook! stand mixer and the dutch oven tie for 2nd place. I didn't register for a vitamix, which was probably a mistake, but I've had a kitchen aid blender for nearly 8 years and it still works great so I didn't see a need
