One friend was marking 47LPA and was working hard for promotion from 5yrs.

Finally got promotion last year and now his salary became 52L. He was happy until he filed ITR and got to know that out of 5L increase in salary he has to pay 2.5L in income tax because of high tax slab and surcharge.

> Tax on 47L was around 10L
> Tax on 52L is around 12.5L

So, basically he has to now pay his 50% salary to Govt while his responsibilities, work pressure increased by 50% due to promotion. That's the kind of cruelty Govt is doing to its hardworking and honest taxpayers.

If you earn 100 rupees, 30 rupees goes to the government.

you also have to pay for healthcare, high petrol prices, school/college fees of kids etc

God forbid If something happens to you because of bad infra, no one is accountable.

You don’t get much rebate on housing loan as well(for new tax regime it’s 0), houses are not affordable as well.

But still you can’t do anything about it, you’ve to live your life like this only.

The restaurant bill includes GST too.

From earning, to investing, to spending...
at almost every stage, there's some form of tax involved.

I'm not saying taxes shouldn't exist , they're essential for running a country. But as a salaried middle class person, it can sometimes feel like you're paying taxes at almost every step of your financial journey.
