.... I’ve been a student nurse and relying on the whole “understaffed” excuse infuriates me, sometimes it’s way more to do with attitude to work and personality. Failing to get the basics right and attending to basic human needs is totally unacceptable no matter how busy #NHS70
@ALqca8t Tbh it’s the healthcare related stuff being online which winds me up more. There are so many people due to age or ability who would struggle to do what they need without help.
Two things that really bother me…1) Self service everywhere you go, the worst one I’ve seen lately is the Tesco Cafe which is mainly used by pensioners who I’m pretty sure would prefer to pay a person £2 for a cup of tea instead of using a screen. Ridiculous. No. 2 the people…
@PeterBezz@pauljallen I spend 80% of my time helping and looking after my mother, I looked after my dad in his final weeks of life and I was a student nurse in my 20s. I’ve got a fairly good idea of what it is like to be old at my grand old age of 40.
@ipb@jmilprint@AJg87652993 I know, they also play none league football apparently. Also you have to laugh that they can assume things about “my generation” but you can’t assume anything about theirs, whatever that may be!
@acrossthesevern A really sensible view. My point is that self service is forced on all of us everywhere now. It’s wrong, especially for people who would struggle or unable to access GP appointments, reminders etc online. It should be a choice.
Madjo gets booked with his first touch practically because he’s stronger physically than his opponent. He then gets pulled down and kicked but no bookings the other way. Frustratingly inconsistent.
@13rew Employing one person on the till is surely more cost effective than 3 x self service. They still need to have someone there to take cash payments whilst we are still allowed to use cash.
@George99188932@AJg87652993 I’m 40 years old, I also don’t want to use self service everywhere I go, both now and in the future, if we have a future. Self service isn’t always the answer no matter age or ability, had a dreadful experience at CDG Airport, no one to help but lots of staff standing around.
@NathThurman I don’t do that but I do get annoyed when they punish you for paying with cash but giving you your change in the maximum amount of coins possible.
@George99188932@AJg87652993 My mother is 80 years old and doesn’t have the same ability, I do everything for her including sorting all her hospital and GP appointments. If I wasn’t able to do it for her, she’d be struggling. This is another example. Take the post in the manner it was intended.
