Maharashtra’s own rules require Marathi to be prominently displayed on establishment nameboards. Additional languages are welcome, but Marathi cannot be pushed aside.

Mumbai is Maharashtra. Mumbai’s official language is Marathi.

So why are we seeing public facing signage where Gujarati gets prominence while Marathi is missing or secondary?
