@TheLapsedFan I definitely had a Jimmy Hart LJN. It sat in the window of a small shop by my house, and five year old me would walk by everyday wishing I could have it. Then one day I got it; a wrestling story that doesn’t end with pain.
@cityofwinnipeg I’ve emailed Councillor Shawn Dobson for months about this. The fence outlining École Assiniboine has been knocked over since June. Kids are back to school now, and with the school being so close to Portage, it’s a safety hazard for children. Please fix 😊
Alex Rodriguez asked a question. Reggie Jackson answered it.
(Shouts to the producer and rest of the desk for staying out of Reggie’s way and just letting him talk. I doubt they expected this answer. But it’s a great few minutes of television.)
@Union__Jacks I lived in that exact same apartment suite in 03-04. I remember the storage lockers you’re talking about, they were below the basement. There was a narrow brick staircase that went under the basement to this dimly lit area with lockers. Creepy, 100’s of mice in that building.
My lady suggested we feed our son beans on toast tonight. Without thinking I replied in a demonic @TheLapsedFan British Bulldog voice “beans on toast!” Then I started laughing, then I had to explain why it was funny. Halfway through explaining she walked away & started sweeping
@CoachV_HLF I don’t see the connection you’re trying to make between tax breaks for sports teams & tolls for people who drive in to Wpg on a daily basis? A toll would apply to people driving into the city no matter what they come in for. This isn’t a new thing, drive though Chicago sometime
@randerson137 @mmarginet Yes I would say that. But we all know tens of thousands of Winnipeggers aren’t leaving the city every day to work in communities outside the city, it’s the other way around.
@shanecopp @CoachV_HLF Give me an example of “other funding” that generates income for the city besides property tax and water? Also, a douche tax on only me wouldn’t be very ethical, profitable, or sustainable.
@CoachV_HLF Property tax is how municipalities maintain infrastructure, so if you live in Headingley cause taxes are lower, but work in Wpg, its Wpg’ers taking the financial brunt. Headlingley’s a nice community but I dont need to go there multiple times a week like they need to come here.
@brent_bellamy In my opinion, Town 8 was one of the crown jewels of our downtown, & I’m sad to see it go. One more piece of downtown’s culture & vibe gone forever.
@LukeFilipowicz Socials are fun. Who cares if you’re not invited to the wedding? Have some cheap drinks, win some prizes, & dance the night away LoL
Today is my 32nd birthday.
Over the last month, I asked several 90-year-olds what advice they would give to their 32-year-old selves.
Here's the life advice everyone needs to hear:
