@iHatejeffwilpon Well Polanco was the starting 1B. He’s an 18 war. That not exactly no plan. Murakami would have been a better plan but Polanco isn’t really no plan. And it’s a gap fill until Clifford is ready.
@asollecito11 The recipe for success is to have 2-3 high WAR guys (30-50) and a supporting field of career 5-10 war. Alvarez - 5.5, Bichette 18, Polanco 20, Semien 40. So who are you putting there? Because on paper they are not just good they’re elite. Even Luis Jr is 16.
@LibOrNormal I hate Yankees fans but that was about the biggest wuss sucker punch I’ve ever seen followed up by a guy then attacking him while he’s on his back wrapped up in seats. I’d be embarrassed to know those two. But it couldn’t happen to a better fan.
@JoeyWahler He’s actually a 4.0 P/PA which is fairly good and above the league average for eating pitches. Steven though he may not produce every time at the plate his AB is productive on that he eats a lot of pitches. Unlike Vientos.
The Mets have had the same problem since the early 90’s. They get great players who come to NY and sucked. They’ve changed coaches, owners, players and even the stadium and the same thing happens. It begs the question. The only thing that hasn’t changed are the fans. Just sayin’
@Masterflip_ On paper this lineup is very good with the exception of Young, Ewing and Benge who have no MLB experience but at playing very well. I think the occasional rest day for Bichette with Baty and DH Melendez and let Polanco play first occasional this is a good plan.
@metsarebest2@TheMetsX My argument against that is that he’s going to receive at least 20 more extremely unproductive ABs a month if not more in the 2 spot vs. 7 or 8. They really can’t afford it.
@MetCastPod Ok well now you’re talking about poor play not health. Don’t move the goal post. He tore his UCL in the thumb sliding. Thats a freak accident. Like tearing a meniscus with a foul ball into the knee. You can’t blame those types of injuries on him.
@DWTheOriginal@RangerApologist I think the argument is that in order for there to be a “live and let live” there can’t be a “look at me I’m (fill in the blank)”
@jackunheard Every one of these comments are inflammatory and almost violent which would generally prove you wrong. However, there are 10 times as many ♥️ than comments so you may have a point here.
