The forecast is pretty calm, but there are still signals of a more active pattern late next week.
Today will be warm with highs in the mid-upper 80’s. We’ll stay in the upper 80’s the rest of the forecast period, with some even cracking 90º. Fortunately that should be about as high as we go. High pressure will dominate, and then we’ll feel some higher humidity by the weekend/early next week (along with some more clouds). Yuck. At least it’s not 100º again!
I’m still watching model trends for late next week. There is still plenty of disagreement in those models, so it’s still too early to give any kind of specifics. The latter half of October does look cooler/wetter, but that’s all beyond the 7-day forecast…so it’s all broad strokes and guesses. We’ll see what the models show as we get closer!

High pressure will warm us up, but it won’t be like the heat dome from the last few months.
This week highs will stay in the mid-upper 80’s. Humidity will be comfortable, though we can expect an increase in dew points this weekend as this tropical system in the Gulf (still Invest 92L as of writing) moves north. I don’t expect much more impact on our area than that since it will stay east of Texas.
There are still signals from the models that a more active pattern could be headed our way mid-late next week. Those models still disagree on what that looks like, and are changing by the day, so there are no final details…but it’s worth watching. I also don’t see any crazy heat coming up. We may get close to 90º a few days, but that’s probably the extent of it.
