Our new paper on 🦈🦈 is out! We used satellite fishing data and survey data to identify bycatch risk hotspots for sharks. Big collaborative effort with amazing colleagues @MichCasini, @Benjamin_Weigel, @TomEcoMod, Max Lindmark and others. More here https://t.co/ywQVsI56sk
Our new paper "Assessing the overlap between fishing and chondrichthyans exposes high-risk areas for bycatch of threatened species" lead by the amazing @fredericomaioli out now in @ESAEcosphere

Fantastic job by @fredericomaioli defending his PhD thesis on community structure and dynamics of sharks and their relatives in the Adriatic Sea. Very important work for paving new avenues for better shark conservation. Couldn’t be more proud. Well done!

Re-analyses of #EasternBalticCod tagging data (1955-1988) showed resident & seasonal #migrations, with larger distances moved by cod released in northern & central areas. Recent tagging data (2016-2019) indicate persistent residency in the southern Baltic
