5/5 This is what the leaders told my uni class when we visited for the day in the summer of 2008/09. Things may have changed since then, but those details have stuck in my mind. It didn't seem like they had any choice...
1/5 Gloriavale leaders told me they decide who marries who. This is how they described it works... a young man will approach the group of leaders (all older men) and tell them he'd like to marry.
4/5 They then move out of their family room which they share with their parents and siblings (usually a curtain separates the children's beds from the parent's), and into their own room.
@AaronIncognito @AnkeRichter From what I was told he wasn't too involved in the new community living there - kept to himself. He's actually left since I wrote those stories... Apparently the same person who dropped him off there years ago picked him up and offered him somewhere else to stay.
Kia ora @EducationGovtNZ, will year 3 children who share classrooms with year 4 students (and are therefore also asked to wear masks) also be supplied with 50 free masks ๐ท? They need protection & their families need support in obtaining masks too.
@JohnJCampbell@Breakfaston1 Great news John. You're an amazing host but you really shine in the field. So many stories need to be told, and they need you to tell them.

"Anyone else using this just so they can sound like they're in a meeting so their other family members don't disturb them?"
Turns out hundreds of thousands of people are using an old council Zoom meeting to avoid their families, workmates and chores๐

The story about an intentional community living in the bush, surrounded by city at the former Centrepoint site.
Down the road from one of the country's largest malls and across the highway from a big shopping complex is the old Centrepoint site, which has become the new home of a colourful and vibrant community.
