Football is an unforgiving game sometimes.

We just never really had ‘the rub of the green’ over the 2 legs of that tie. There were some poor defending on occasions that did cost us in the end but there were situations that on another occasion, with a different opposition goalkeeper we could have won that clear.

We went into it with great hope after an amazing win against the tournament GOATS Real Madrid, but deep down we just didn’t have the squad depth. We couldn’t really power up from the bench with the quality that is required, when it was needed.

The boys now know what it feels like to be in a knockout game of this magnitude, I think they were amazing tonight, never stopped trying, and I’m proud of them.

We are a very good football team, and are slowly getting closer to greatness. We need to have a rest in the Summer, raise the ceiling again, certainly get a real Striker, dust ourselves down and go again.

Never give up, we’ll get there and this is just part of the journey.
