Emilia helped Subaru first, least in our POV but it was Subarus innate nature that spurred him to help her in return.

Then you hit From Zero where Rem acknowledges that nature, loves it and then tells him he's loved no matter what others think.

Which including in that moment even Emilia was being cold to him. This then has him Emilia who then eventually works through a good amount of her issues in arc 4.

Which is why Subaru said what he said during it. That she's hardheaded and annoying and why would anybody deal with her?

Nobody in the circle of actions is perfect.

Subaru knows this, Emilia knows this and Rem knows this.

They all also acknowledge that Subaru loves both of them and they love him back.

Literally the only missing thing is the talks about if Emilia is ok with a harem and all indicators point to yes, she is.

It's why in arc 6 she said she would share Subarus attention with Rem. Or how in arc 9 both girls acknowledged that they had to talk in regards to Subaru.

The issue isn't "should these three be together" but that Tappei hasn't committed yet.

Emilia and Rem even work in sync in Arc 9 with Zero training because of their connection to Subaru.

It's asinine behavior to act like any char in this relationship dislikes each other or thinks they're better than one another.

This is only done because people are imposing their irl morals onto fiction.
