@iancollinsuk answer to your question re Capital Gains, if selling to a close relative/family member sale value should be at open market value. Ideally need professional valuation to support and gain based on this.

@alexarmstrong @benleo Likely she would have exceeded the 40% rate, which works on a monthly basis with a £1500 one off lump sum. The £50270 is divided into monthly thresholds of £4189. If the £1500 takes gross pay over that it will be taxed at 40%.

@SoVeryBritish My neighbour used to do mine because as an ex postie he was always up and about at 5 am so would be out before me. Now, he has become housebound through I'll health and I do the same for him ( and take back in again when emptied)

@LizKershawDJ You could look at software such as @Xero @QuickBooksUK @freeagent which can automatically import your bank transactions into the software, and can also photo receipts from your phone and store/ import the details directly into the apps.
