🐟Global SSF production: 37.3 million tonnes (25.1 marine; 12.2 inland), with Asia contributing > 65 % to global SSF catch
🦐 SSF catch composition (marine): 20% small pelagic, 8% tuna and bonitos. A total of 2,104 species were identified.
💵 Global economic value of SSF: US$77.2 billion (44% of total fisheries value).
🍲 Average contribution of SSF to dietary micronutrients: 17.7% and 20.0% for marine and inland respectively.
🎣 People directly employed in SSF: 60.2 million
👩🏽🌾 Women employed in SSF: 44.7 million
🏭 Livelihoods at least partially dependent on SSF: 491.7 million (1 every 12 people globally), with Asia > 80%.
