You can read our latest study (with Profs Bowers and Johnson from @UCLCrimeScience) where we test routine activity theory and the impact of household occupancy on different types of burglary in London around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic (https://t.co/QqM7q1kKks)
We found different types of burglary were affected differently by the pandemic and the related changes to life. Residential and attempted residential burglaries significantly decreased, especially during the day, but this is largely explained by changes in the time spent at home
This summer students from my GIS courses at UiO volunteered for a workshop run with @NIS_F (see also https://t.co/M5KGJ5tvFs) to create maps to help illustrate global sustainability to young people. Here are some of them on show in the first exhibition (in Hamar) ran last month
About to start the first 'SGO1910 Intro to GIS' treasure hunt. Groups of students will find 5 clues/coordinates for 5 different locations, 2 sets of prizes for the fastest.
Location 4 they needed to convert coordinates and work out what 406 means in that building (which would have been easier if the website I suggested worked consistently)
Iceland, are you ready for a bunch of Nordic criminologists? Next week, our annual Nordic criminology research seminar is being held in Hotel Örk Hveragerði! (1/5)
