Our fourth and final researcher presenting at #VPH2022 is Michael (@MichaelMacRaild ) 😊
Michael will be giving a presentation on an in-silico performance assessment of a flow diverter👀
This presentation will follow Qiongyao's on Friday at 9.30. No need to go anywhere😉
If you're heading to the #VPH2022 conference make sure you don't miss our #CISTIB researchers! 😊
First is the wonderful Fergus Shone. Fergus will be delivering a presentation on the use of PINNs for MRI 👀
👇If you'd like to get in touch with Fergus👇

NEWS FLASH! It’s not a dislike of “hard maths” that puts girls off studying or pursuing careers in maths + physics.
It’s outdated and damaging stereotypes that close doors on many talented girls and women.
Ready to hear about some of our most inspiring women physicists?

This is where my research comes in!
The aim of my PhD is to use data-driven modelling techniques, such as reduced order models and physics-informed deep learning, to accelerate the computational simulations that are essential to ISTs.

PhD title: Efficient ensemble simulation methods for in-silico trials of endovascular medical devices.
What is an in-silico trial (IST)? Put simply, ISTs are clinical trials performed using computational modelling and simulation instead of real-life patients.
#CDTTweCon 1/3
Recently, our group (@CISTIB) published a proof of concept IST, where we recreated and expanded upon results from three clinical trials of an aneurysm treatment device.
Despite this successful study, ISTs remain limited by expensive computational models.
