Disinformation about Israel’s response to Hamas’s savagery is overwhelming social media and driving antisemitism. Our political leaders cannot afford to provide it with any further oxygen - the stakes are just too high for Canada’s Jewish community. My latest op-ed ⬇️

“Welcome to 2024, where the City of Toronto’s latest political strategy appears to be the encouragement of further lawlessness, escalation and antisemitism, all with a friendly face,” said B’nai Brith CEO @MichaelMostyn
My latest op-ed with @StamatakisCPA.
@bnaibrithcanada and the Canadian Police Association agree that our governing system must work as one body, with components that allow for the arrests of violent and/or unruly demonstrators.
We need strong leadership.

U.S. states have laws against face coverings designed to prevent identification, going back to when the Ku Klux Klan were most active. In Canada, it's a crime, per sections 66(2) and 351 of the Criminal Code. Multiple European nations, too. We've got the laws. Enforce them.
Very thankful to the @rcmpgrcpolice @csiscanada and all other agencies involved for the successful prevention of a terror attack against the Jewish community. Antisemitism puts us all at risk.

Don't just see the light.
Be the light.
That was the inspiring message at @IsraelinToronto's Hanukkah reception with @fordnation and colleagues.
Thanks for bringing us together!
This comes just as hundreds of Hamas fighters are peacefully surrendering 2 Israel. This UN motion helps Hamas. But Israel and the Jewish people, who have been facing antisemitism at record levels, have always understood in the end they are basically alone https://t.co/FNdPHZ6ymu
or at least its absolute surrender before asking Israel to cease its own military operations and accept a status quo with these unrepentant murderers, who seek Oct. 7, again and again.
Your government has let our community down, including the families of the victims.
No one wants to see war or suffering. The images from Gaza are terrible. But by abandoning its own principles, Canada does not stand for peace, but rather the path of least resistance.
Hamas is a terror group under CDN law, but Canada's ceasefire call is a lifeline for these evil sadists to continue their never-ending war against Israel and the Jewish people. Any Palestinian who stands up to Hamas winds up dead too.
How shameful @melaniejoly & @JustinTrudeau have finally caved to pressure by the usual anti-Israel suspects, in Canada and at the UN, in calling for an immediate ceasefire. The pressure everyone knew was coming. The pressure everyone suspected our government could not withstand

What is this, @CTVToronto? Is there no time delay for live broadcasts? Which employee made the editorial decision to link the war against Hamas in Gaza to the Jewish holiday of Chanukah? Please explain why anyone should believe this was not a premeditated act of #antisemitism
Irwin Cotler is a human rights champion of the most oppressed in our society - totally unacceptable that this is happening to him here in Canada. #cdnpoli
Today, I rose in the House of Commons to mark #JewishRefugees Day. Only through learning & education can we defeat antisemitism and all hate: https://t.co/mbOwDalS2a
Three weeks ago, politicians, signatories representing community organizations, the research community, civil society organizations, and hundreds of individuals, signed a letter saturated with dangerous disinformation.
The letter denied the irrefutable evidence of gender-based violence perpetrated by Hamas terrorists against innocent women and children following October 7th 2023. This is dehumanization.

Holding a Jewish community center responsible for the perceived actions of Israel is absolutely antisemitic. The Jewish community will not be intimidated by cowardly acts such as this. We hope the perpetrators are identified and charged accordingly.
Jewish community centres are populated by people between 0 and 110. They provide important programs to Canadians. Graffiti on this building, demonstrating outside this building & threats made to its users are antisemitism pure & simple.
