A student today asked me what a specific assignment was and why he got a zero. I told him, and he said he understood, apologized for failing to complete it, and said he respectfully takes the zero. Wow.
To be clear, I wholeheartedly endorse @JoeBiden for president and condemn @realDonaldTrump for being a racist, unhinged lunatic who fans the flames of extremism.
Do you guys think that publishing in journals is going to be the main way we communicate our research to other scientist?
I believe that more researchers will take their narrative into their own hands, so social media will play a larger role in our careers.
@AcademicChatter
Did you ever spend hours completing a grant proposal KNOWING that it’s a perfect fit, you have the quals, and you’re stupid excited, but thinking deep down that you probably won’t get it? That’s about where I am now. #academicchatter#pickmechoosemeloveme#grants
Nothing irritates me more than filling in all the boxes on a job application (e.g., references, contact info, education, work experience) WHEN IT’S ALREADY IN MY CV. #AcademicChatter#academicproblems
@E_M_Jenkins @lizzo 1.) Ditching committees isn’t always an option for junior faculty. 2.) Perhaps we’re physically “tired” from helping students and empowering them. Academics are allowed to feel exhausted by it.
#AcademicChatter folks, my book came out in May. Can I impose upon you to retweet the heck out of the link? I want to see it reach its target audience: teacher educators and pre-service teachers.
Thanks!
