Guy surgeons. If a HUGE study comes out showing results consistent w other big studies that your female colleagues get better results, maybe read the paper & have a think about the reasons why that might be true. Bc when you are dismissive it honestly makes you look pretty bad.
@RealCedricDark I have said it many times: Just because I will someday get paid what I’m worth does not mean I should not now also get paid what I am worth. My future value does not negate my current value.
🎉Please join us in welcoming Dr. Susan Tsai (@isteaus) as the new director of the Division of Surgical Oncology! As you'll see from Dr. @timpawlik's announcement, she is a talented physician scientist, and leader. We're so excited to have her on the #OhioStateSurg team!
Excellent response from @jmills1955 and the @VascularSVS on the NYT claudication piece. Thank you for being the voice for our society in this critical topic. It’s worth a read:

So today is the beginning of Pride Month. We can remember 10+ years ago not being able to name a single LGBTQ+ surgeon. Today, we know dozens, and orgs like @OutSurgeons are leading the traditional orgs to increase DEI rapidly...

I am so happy for @_CFlanagan! Colleen ushered me through the darkest days of intern year. I cannot speak positively enough. I know she’ll do great things in her next home, but we get her for one more year!
@olsonplanner It’s not about being financially manageable for me personally (in a smaller city with a more reasonable COL). It’s about being compensated fairly for the value you bring to an organization
I will never forget how during my medical training, whenever I was answering an exam question about a patient who happened to be gay, the answer choices always looked something like this:
A) HIV
B) iv drug use
C) gonorrhea
D) chlamydia
E) bc they gay lol
