@Dave_DotNet A Union in the making!

[Dave Callan | dotnet @Dave_DotNet]

SSMS Dark Mode is available from Preview 21
#sql #sqlserver

Turn it on from ....
Environment>Visual Experience>Color theme
or
Tools>Theme

They've started with the most used screens and dialogs so it's a partial implementation only but its great to see the ball rolling on this.

@marcgravell This is a definite - yes please!

[Michael Stramel @Michael_Stramel]

@thdxr What about async suffixes?

[Michael Stramel @Michael_Stramel]

@Damian_Canada @berlin_bridge What is CEE, google isn't helping?

Next is the first-class addition of "WaitFor". You can now wait for dependencies to start, be healthy or to be complete before running your resource.

This is much like "depends_on" in docker compose, but with the ability to write health checks in C#.

@ErickRodrCodes @javebratt @angular Java has been a long time. Would enjoy reacquainting with and mastering it, tho.

[Michael Stramel @Michael_Stramel]

@ErickRodrCodes @javebratt @angular Hi Eric. I am in Houston TX and actively seeking. https://t.co/B4L4YgQ8Jg

@crazytexdoc @Osinttechnical Came here to say this.. They are protecting NPP Kurskaya

Discriminated unions in C# 🥳

Looks like this is now an official proposal.
It might actually be happening.

It turns out music, movies, entertainment, and society in general peaked during the exact time period when you, the person reading this, were a teenager.

[Robert Reich @RBReich]

Clarence Thomas hearing Trump's immunity case, when his wife Ginni was directly involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election, tells you everything you need to know about the Supreme Court's new code of "ethics."

It's a sham.

[Michael Stramel @Michael_Stramel]

@firstdrafthell You prob already tried this but search the code base for the word `scrollTop`

[David Fowler @davidfowl]

The “smartest in the room” idea makes it seem like being “smart” is one dimensional. Teams are made up of people with lots of different skill sets at varying levels. You should leave the room if you’re not learning or growing in ways that you want.

@davidfowl Taking a solution with ~20 Projects from .Net Core 3.1 to .Net 8 now. Working through porting IdentityServer4 to OpenIddict, but keeping MS Identity.

@codeopinion An ugly solution would be to make Foo thread safe by… creating a new DbContext from the passed in context. Add a FromExisting(this DbCtx ctx) method in DbCtx

@bydanjohnson 2Q25?? Sigh….

I've kept a pretty low (online) profile of what I'm building, but word's getting out.

My company Astro Mechanica has invented a new kind of jet engine. Unlike any existing engine, it's efficient at every speed. Because it's efficient at every speed, we can use it in a new way: as the first stage of an orbital launch vehicle.

The resulting platform will get payloads to orbit dramatically cheaper than all-rocket systems - among many possible applications.

The key insight is to use electric motors to drive a compressor. That way we can make it spin at any speed, allowing it to "adapt" to it's airspeed and combustion cycle.

One of the coolest parts: the video below is of a demonstrator my team and I built last year. We already have a new engine with 10x the thrust that will be complete next month.

@Tjay819 @rakyll Google is providing correct answer. Presumably you are expecting a conversion to GiB
