Feminist media activism plays an important role in society. It allows people to recognize and act upon the types of behaviors/misconduct that should not be accepted. It also teaches us right from wrong, as many political views regarding gender, encourage sexism/discrimination
@UConMikaylaS I think we as a society are trying to change that. However that idea of "feminity" and masculinity" has been deep routed into our culture and society that it's hard to diminish those thoughts and ideologies.
@Gabriella_E307 Thank god they changed that! All the Disney movies I watched as a kid had men saving the princesses. I'm glad girls growing up now have a role model that saves them from a situation.
I like how Disney started to demonstrate women as powerful and strong and that they save the day. Which will teach little girls that they can do anything they set their mind to. #lesson11
@LarbalElyse Honestly, I wish it was that easy. However, I think a change in social/cultural norms and societal influences. Especially since our society created this "box" in which defines what masculine & feminism should represent.
@Melanie29535752 I agree with you! I also think that thanks to our society, people often have this negative image of what feminism means and they often correlate to "man-hater".
I think the importance of online privacy is something that should be taught to young kids. However, who do you think should be responsible to teach those kids the importance? #lesson9
@CarolineLunney I'm telling you it's so creepy. I had mentioned once my childhood toy to someone and then I get an ad on it on youtube.... I never get ads for toys and that one day I mentioned it, I got the one I mentioned. So creepy.
@S_McCollEduc307 I agree. However, I also think that schools and parents should be responsible to help kids with online safety. kids are in school most of the time and parents are not there to help them. Therefore, I think schools should take responsibility to help protect young children
Speaking of #lesson9, what are your thoughts on Facebook targeting children as young as 6 for consumer advertisement and marketing?

Should there be more government surveillance on the internet/social media to protect young children from harm from using the internet and social media unsupervised? #lesson9
During my teenage years (14-16 years old ) and getting used to social media platforms, I thought nothing about privacy and has anyone follow me on Instagram. However, as I got older I preferred having my privacy on social media.#lesson8 What about you?
