Today I returned from taking some time off to do the Camino de Santiago from Porto to Finisterre. 370km of walking along the coast, through mountains, fields, and a hurricane has fuelled my motivation and ideas for this PhD. Bring on the final year!

It was wonderful to see such an interest in the session "Sleep and Mental Health: Investigating the Complexities from Adolescence to Aging" despite the early start! I'm excited to follow your research into sleep extension and daily emotion experience - a fascinating topic!!
Kicking us off at 8am @ESRS_Sleep#sleepeurope2024@MichaelaPawley is speaking on adolescent sleep and suicide.
Using data from the millennium cohort study, 18,000 people, to look at longitudinal relationships between sleep and suicide attempts
What a pleasure and privilege to share the preliminary results from our study exploring the #longitudinal links between #sleep, decision-making, and #suicide during #adolescence.
Despite being an 8am start on the last day of #SleepEurope2024, it was great to see such interest!🎉
@Warwick_SAP@ESRS_Sleep I'm also looking forward to working with Monisha Ravikumar, a fellow @group_sleep member who was also voted onto the ECN committee - great to see so much representation from the Midlands ☺️💤
Really excited to kickoff the @ESRS_Sleep#SleepEurope2024 with the news that I have been elected as one of the @esrs_ecrn committee members! Looking forward to cultivating collaboration across disciplines and borders with early career researchers 🎉

Last night I stepped out of my comfort zone to present my PhD research topic and some findings at Pint of Science. It was fantastic engaging with the public and sharing my passion for #sleep and self-harm research, and this being so reciprocated! #pint24
I had a great time attending the @group_sleep conference at @uniofwarwick today. I presented the results from my first 2 studies where using the Millennium Cohort Study I investigated the #longitudinal effects of #sleep and decision-making on self-harm during adolescence.
One of our own lab members @MichaelaPawley presenting the findings from her first 2 studies with insights into the longitudinal associations between sleep and decision-making on self-harm outcomes during adolescence

Yesterday I presented my PhD topic to an audience of practitioners and researchers at the Supporting Student Mental Health Conference. Thanks @openforumevents for organising such a great event and providing a platform to share my passion for sleep and recent research findings!
Was an honour to speak at the 2023 European Insomnia Network meeting this morning to share the results from my first study investigating the associations between sleep and self-harm during adolescence. Some other great talks given by fellow sleep enthusiasts! #ein@ESRS_Sleep
It’s #WorldMentalHealthDay. Sleep health and mental health are connected. Results from our 2023 Sleep in America® Poll show that American adults with healthier sleep habits are less likely to experience significant depressive symptoms. Learn more: https://t.co/1ZesM04ZbH
