Originally from County Durham. Trained as a PE teacher at Avery Hill, now Headteacher at St Wilfrid's, Crawley. Views are mine, personally & professionally
The DfE updated this info on Tues! Tight deadline, but better in schools’ pockets than The Treasury. Pension supplementary fund and funding for local authority centrally employed teachers and music education hubs - https://t.co/2xAa37oI6q #FunFactFriday https://t.co/guhMFw5I2r
A huge and incredibly heart felt thank you to all at St Wilfrid’s in Crawley... the staff and students have been amazing long term supporters of the homeless and disadvantaged. This week they took part in an amazing Sleep Out to raise funds and awareness

@seanjcoughlan@WorthLessFF It really is brilliant and hats off to those schools doing an amazing job; but on funding, place the school where I work into Greenwich and I get +£1.1m (not incl PP); I can raise a lot of aspirations with that!
It's not that remarkable when funding differences between several London Boroughs and most other areas are considered. Other factors apply too
All pupils - inc those in the most challenging London boroughs - should be sufficiently funded
Definitely all in hand.😀
Now that Brexit is sorted it’s time for schools to be be sorted. The recent pledge was a positive start. Now it’s time to move on:
A properly funded formula
SEND
Support services - counselling, EP, social care...
Teacher supply
2020...
Education school funding barely got mentioned in election, yet this has been the most difficult year for finances in the 17 of being a Worcester head. Got to have fair proper funds now
Hi @michaelgove & @BBCPolitics Mary Foy here, the new MP for the City of Durham.
Sorry to disappoint you and Boris but the 136th #DurhamMinersGala will be held, as always in @UKLabour seat.
Oh! And you’re not invited
Ever 😜

A letter from over 400 special schools who have just signed a letter calling for the funding crisis in special schools to be solved along with the services that support the most vulnerable children and their families.
Serious question.... at which point did leaving EU become more important than peoples lives? To my knowledge there were no protests/riots about how EU was treating us prior to 2016.... austerity was self imposed... those affected most have voted those delivering it back in - why?
Revealed. The worst ED waits ever recorded. Not a single A&E met the 4 hr target.
More patients dying on trolleys.
More children lying on floors.
More misery.
More risk.
More indignity.
So what exactly are you going to do about it, Prime Minister? https://t.co/kKQOfBmkKx
Mr Johnson has just referred to 'record' spending in education. NO mention of real terms per pupil spending
I hope that the 'more money than ever before' nonsense is not re-branded
Children deserve better than that in the years ahead
