Graded Ofsted inspections during the Covid pandemic are 'toxic' to the wellbeing of headteachers and should be stopped, says @Headrest_UK https://t.co/s9eRNpkVMS

The views from WorthLess? / Jules White on the need for resource and investment. I think that the lack of funding for SEND is as much as an issue as the ongoing disadvantaged student ‘attainment gap’. Both are a scandal.
Also from PMQs, the £14bn figure in extra school spending is being wheeled out again. It's actually an increase of £7.1bn by 2022-23, according to IFS and the Treasury, as spelt out by the Chancellor when announced: https://t.co/Dv3ztpKn63
"It's more than disappointment, I just feel let down."
Head Teacher, Jules White calls for a 'whole new look at how we fund and support education' after tutoring sessions costing £1 billion over three years were announced in England.

I wonder if you were looking for a real "key fact" about parents and university whether it would be much more about students being charged full fees when half are still only being taught online.
There is strong evidence that the pandemic has been harmful to children in so many ways. It has left many feeling isolated, missing friends and family and more exposed to risks both inside and outside the home.” Mark Russell, The Children’s Society #TurnThePage. Join the debate!
Two national treasures in one story: Marcus Rashford and a fish finger sandwich. He talked on a Zoom call about going hungry when young and a project for budget recipes. Very impressive too. In upmarket restaurants, would fish fingers be doigts de poisson? https://t.co/TgiKOcuZAy
Wouldn’t it be brilliant if we had a National integrated, cross departmental Marmot Strategy supporting ALL public services to focus on supporting strong healthy communities. Instead we invent disparate “initiatives” that deal with the symptoms of inequality not the real causes.
@DonnaLFerguson @MaryBoustedNEU @NEUnion@WorthLessFF Worth reporting the fact that this y11 cohort were first without Levels at Key Stage 2 so very hard to compare prior attainment with any previous year group. How are schools going to compare with previous courts when the measures are different? Wll lead to more inconsistency.
I think that this is a crucial area going forward. Assessment reform, children's mental health, coherent and sufficient wraparound care will be vital or else schools will just resume the default '4th emergency service' role again
For the life of me, I cannot understand why we are not investing more in the first two years of life. Get that wrong and we're forever playing the catch-up game. Billions spent on consultants, but pennies on our youngest children and effective parenting.
Finding myself nodding along to @amanda_spielman on @LBC this morning: ‘History is fascinating; learning how to answer a 6 mark question is not’. Hope that @educationgovuk use this opportunity to address our high-stakes examination and accountability culture.
Looking forward to the World Education Summit in March; I'll be presenting on Leading with Purpose on Tuesday 23rd March. Find out more about the Summit here - https://t.co/XpIFgIbbVT. #WorldEdSummit#education#conference
