"The short term price of Bitcoin is now controlled by Wall Street. And they want your Bitcoin."
Simon Dixon (@SimonDixonTwitt) spent a decade watching the same institutions that dismissed Bitcoin quietly move to capture it. He came on to explain the
#Bitcoin has essentially been going sideways since February.
There's not much that has happened in between.
One piece of advice that I can give is that: once it breaks out of this entire rangebound period, don't sell too early.
The longer something goes sideways, the heavier the impulse will be and the more patient you'll need to be during that phase.
It can easily run to $100k+ without any opportunities of getting back into a position.
It's the last day of the month, which usually means that #Bitcoin retraces, even though there's a ton of strength across markets.
That generally brings back to the easiest part of investing: accumulate here, be patient, enjoy the Summer and come back later.
There's not a point of overstressing during these moves within a range.
I don't regret going full into #Altcoins, and I'm also not regretting it by doing it publicly.
For sure, I'm still under water by around 50%, and that's not a juicy picture, but it continues to be a self-fulfilling prophecy for myself: I need to improve my trading.
I've relentlessly been holding those #Altcoins over the past year, and that hasn't resulted into a return.
However, adjusting the strategy by adding more funds is has helped a lot, and my general plan is to be active on the trading side.
The journey has only begun.
Very boring state of mind with #Bitcoin, as it's chopping around and #Altcoins generally continue to fall.
It's not holding above the 21-Day MA, and therefore, the risk of another sweep of the lows have increased.
Other than that, it's been the last day of the month, and it's still holding above $60k.
Why I'm thinking that this is relevant is due to the fact that holding above $60K confirms a higher low and therefore it confirms the bullish divergence.
No need to stress, just accumulate and be patient.
Quite usually August isn't a great month for #Bitcoin, however, after that, there's a strong period coming up for the markets.
What's the gameplan?
Accumulate your positions.
Enjoy the summer.
Don't use leverage.
My current portfolio is largely skewed towards the following assets:
- $NEAR
- bittensor:native
We've had a first run on these two earlier on and I think that we're about to witness a renewed run from August - October.
"You will own nothing and be happy."
Everyone knows the phrase. Simon Dixon told me what the second half actually means:
"What does be happy mean? Be happy means eventually AI will drive you to a universal basic income, and that will be paid via a stablecoin. You will own nothing and you'll be happy because
we'll give you a universal basic income."
The mechanism he describes is almost elegant: your real assets move to a custodian, you get a programmable IOU back, AI takes the jobs, and the income you're left with is one they can
program. Each step sounds like convenience. The sum is dependence.
You don't have to buy the whole picture to notice the direction of travel — more custody, more programmability, less that's actually yours.
And his conclusion is one sentence: "#Bitcoin is the resistance against those forces."
The easy #Altcoin markets are over.
A lot of people are simply holding those assets (like I've been doing) for a long period of time, hoping to retrieve those gains and to get that 50X.
I don't think this will happen.
I much rather think in cases of compounding returns. If there's a run of an #Altcoin that does 20-80%, I'd much rather have that in the bank, wait for an obvious spot and/or sit in Bitcoin / Ethereum.
As a matter of fact, Bitcoin and Ethereum can still yield you a tremendous return from here anyways.
This resonates entirely with the last bear market in 2019.
In that period, #Crypto was a complete ghosttown.
Questions being asked:
'Do we still have a purpose with tokens and crypto?'
The same questions are being asked right now.
Yes, there will always be narratives, and there will be better versions of previous versions.
As long as our financial system is corrupt, faulty and manipulated, the desire to build tokenized systems that are better will remain.
The amount of people building in the ecosystem has grown, so it's just a matter of time before prices are picking up.
"Tokenization and AI agents."
@Jamie1Coutts's entire 12-month playbook for #crypto demand is five words long. The interesting part is who he says shows up as the buyer:
"The marches inevitable. Bessent was out last week talking about blockchain and digitalization. So they want it, obviously, because they're going to find buyers for their debt."
Translation: the US government isn't warming to tokenization out of conviction — it has record issuance to place, and tokenized markets mean more buyers for Treasuries. Demand for crypto rails, driven by the state's own funding problem. Meanwhile AI agents need neutral rails no single company controls.
Machines that need to transact, and a government that needs to borrow. Strange coalition — but neither one trades on sentiment.
During such a massive pump of $SOL, you don't want to accumulate positions.
However, after such a correction as the current one.
You do want to accumulate positions.
The fair price of #Bitcoin is massively higher.
I've discussed this with @RaoulGMI on @new_era_finance and I fully stand by it.
He mentioned: 'The fair price of #Bitcoin right now is $160,000.'
Obviously, the breakdown on the 10th of October has taken a lot of liquidity out of the markets and I'm sure that we won't be hovering around $60,000 if that didn't happen.
The only thing that's for certain is that once the markets are turning around, it might go quick.
It would be great if #Bitcoin can indeed hold above $60,000-61,000 and turn the MACD and RSI back upwards.
In that case; new rally imminent and $80,000-83,000 remains a potential target.
