It was my mother’s 59th birthday this past Sunday. We’re hanging out today… She came with me to officially file for the U.S. Senate race. It’s emotional being at the capitol because I grew up in this neighborhood. I remember riding my bike further than my mom would’ve wanted me to, the memories are engrained in me as long as God grants me good memory. Thank you Lord! Now there’s frustration I feel at what our state and city have become, but gratitude for the chance to change it.
Wish my mom a happy birthday if you can. I’m grateful for another year with her. We’re going to lunch, might have to be hickory hut or taco house. Maybe we’ll see if the great Kenny Mauer is at his watering hole on West 7th St. Sorry Kenny! Lol. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.
I met a Liberian DFL candidate for state house outside the filing center. We chatted for a moment, he asked me about my platform. I said I’ve been talking about the importance of Christ and holding our Christian principles, he agreed. Interesting… I made a cultural joke about the Liberian community being very tough on their children, he laughed and agreed with that too.
We will not take a single back step. We will not be moved, we are the salt of the earth and I will be a rock of reverence. I may seem extreme or tough but it’s only because things have gone too far. I remember simpler times with common sense and a general fear of God. I’m the 1st U.S. Senate nominee born in the 1990s, 1st Black person endorsed or nominated to run for U.S. Senate by either major party. All glory to God. I’m thankful for His charity and grace. Now it’s time to hit another milestone, 1st Republican to overcome a rigged endorsement and go on to defeat a radical Democrat. The most important thing is to keep Christ at the center of my heart. I want to be remembered as 1 of the 1st people to help bring sanity back to Minnesota. I hope you’re proud Grandpa!
