East Java Art & Culture
East Java, a province with 38 districts and Surabaya as its capital city that known as the second largest city in Indonesia. A hot city with its frank people, this is how they speak: ‘Lek iyo yo iyo lek ora ya ora!’. Just be bold is their nature.
And this one is about East Java culinary. One of their most culinary is Tumpeng. Tumpeng is a symbol of gotong royong which usually begins with a prayer or a hope for safety. Followed by a ceremonial feast that involves the cutting of a traditional tumpeng dish.

Here I share what I've learned from the @ukpetra course material. There are many in each city, but I only mention just a few cities in East Java. check my next thread👇
And last I learn about the community, they have philosophy 'Gotong Royong' It meant work together. That's why their culinary also based on that philosophy, like Tumpeng. Tumpeng usually eaten together to create the sense of togetherness.
There also some village in East Java that have unique culture art. One of them is Eco-Print. It's really unique how to use a leave to decorate your fabric
Not just about the culture, I also learn a bit about the city. East Java is the second largest city in Indonesia, and Surabaya is teh capital. There are some place that quite unique like the Chinatown, European Heritage, Ampel, and many more.
I also learn a lot about Indonesia Batik. From how to make it, the type of the Batik from every country, ang even tutorial how to wear it. It's really interesting and beautiful.
