The Dingell family has held Michigan’s seat in the U.S. House for 93 consecutive years.

At a recent town hall, Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) responded to a critical constituent with:

“You know, I don’t appreciate being told we’re not doing enough when I fuckin’ voted on two war resolutions this week… you fuckin’ elected a Republican.”

Forget the profanity for a moment.

In a country founded on “no kings,” when does a political seat start to feel like a family inheritance?

At what point does a long-serving legacy blur into something that resembles more of a quiet dynasty?

🔴💸 CONNECTICUT: P-Card Corruption Crisis: Firings, Arrests, and a Call for Full Statewide Audit

New Haven has fired its Food System Policy Director after she admitted to using a city-issued purchasing card (P-card) for at least $5,000 in unauthorized personal purchases, officials announced last week.

Latha Swamy, who led urban agriculture and community composting efforts since 2018, was terminated effective May 29, 2026. A routine review uncovered the misuse; Swamy acknowledged violating policy during a Loudermill hearing.

Her P-card logged more than $108,000 in 467 transactions between December 2024 and February 2026, including a Kickstarter for a board game and skincare purchases. Her supervisor, Community Services Administrator Eliza Halsey, received a one-week unpaid suspension for inadequate oversight. New Haven Police are investigating.

The case is part of a wave of P-card scandals across Connecticut. Connecticut State Police are investigating former New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart for allegedly misusing her city P-card for more than $207,000 in personal and undocumented expenses, including groceries, clothing, household items, and campaign costs, between 2016 and 2025. An independent report found 59% of charges lacked supporting documentation, prompting Stewart to suspend her gubernatorial campaign.

Separately, Seymour Police Officer Justin Quilty resigned and was arrested after being accused of misappropriating more than $32,000 in public funds believed to have been used for gambling. City spokesman Michael Speiller said Swamy’s personal spending violated policy and that police were notified. Neither Swamy nor Halsey commented.

These repeated incidents highlight systemic weaknesses in oversight. To restore public trust and protect taxpayer dollars, Connecticut should immediately order a full, independent audit of every municipal and state P-card program.

California Is Blocking a Federal Audit of Its Voter Rolls

California allows first-time voters to register using forms of ID that most Americans would find surprising, including:

-Gym membership card
-Employer ID card
-Credit or debit card
-Prescription drug label
-Insurance card (California provides free health coverage to undocumented immigrants)

This is permitted when a voter fails to provide a Social Security number or driver’s license at registration. Our office believes this policy deserves a closer look.

We also have serious concerns about how California maintains its voter rolls. There are open questions about whether the state is promptly removing deceased voters, people who have moved, and individuals convicted of disqualifying felonies.

On top of that, California allows third parties to collect and turn in ballots on voters’ behalf (a practice known as ballot harvesting) with few restrictions. This makes it difficult to track who actually received, completed, and submitted each ballot.

For over a year, the Department of Justice has been trying to audit California’s voter rolls. Federal law gives the Attorney General the authority to review state voter files and confirm that only eligible U.S. citizens are voting in federal elections.

@AAGDhillon sent California a letter explaining our legal authority. California refused to comply, claiming state privacy laws block the review, an argument that does not hold up because those laws don’t apply to the federal government in this context. We’ve sued California in federal court, and the case is before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

If California genuinely wants voters to trust its elections, it should open its records, not fight to keep them closed.

No, they were meeting in his hotel, and in March 2020 they were coordinating this plan. The Italian intelligence services actually provided me with a cell phone number for the go order, and it goes to General Graziano. So then you ask, well, they concoct the plan. They have to go get the IT guys. Who’s gonna do it? Well, they already had a guy. His name is Charles Robinson. He is a telemetry expert. He came in a week prior to the election of November 2020. He uploaded spike software, and he had traveled from Frankfurt.”
