Boosting the growing global outcry for the Aughinish Alumina plant in Ireland to stop selling shiploads of raw materials to Russia. Why? Russia uses that to help make the drones and bombs used to blow up Ukrainian children sleeping in their beds at night.

Open Letter
To the President of the Russian Federation
From the President of Ukraine
When you came to power in Russia more than 26 years ago, many people in Ukraine viewed you positively. That is how it was. But that is now in the past.
Now, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians view it positively that our long-range drones paid a visit to the opening of your forum in St. Petersburg, covering a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. As you know very well, that distance is not the limit of our capabilities.
@Decadentliving@ZelenskyyUa I didn’t interpret it as surrendering the occupied Ukrainian lands, but more of a starting point for negotiations. And it’s masterful, because Putin has to refuse to stay in power, maybe even alive now. Ukraine still appearing ready to negotiate is a major diplomatic win, imho.
@AnnaOdesitka@ZelenskyyUa Your father has been right so many times before, and I hope he is right this time too. The longer Russia stays down from its own economic failures the safer Ukrainians will be, and the more time they will have to improve their defenses.
Preserving history is resisting.
Remember Trump saying he would end the war in Ukraine (the Russian occupation of Ukraine) in 24 hours?
The reality is that Russia is targeting, and killing, more civilians than before Trump came back.

@JayinKyiv@CiaranCuffe There are 30+ Americans claiming Irish Ancestry in the US, who support Ukraine and don’t consider themselves boot lickers just because Trump’s face matches the color of Putin’s hemorrhoid cream. And- there’s a proven genetic connection between Ukraine & Ireland:

@irenefarren@CiaranCuffe@KitMurray I can see it looks like that. But it’s been on the radar for a while, and it’s hit the top of the list now. Russia’s increased bombing of civilians using Aughinish materials make it more crucial now too, as it’s used in cluster bombs, shahid drones, and shell casings.
#Alumina21
@KitMurray@CiaranCuffe I hear you. Please check the increasing global demand for Alumina to see there are other markets for this plant, especially with the Strait of Hormuz closed. Or maybe the workers can get paid to clean up the plant’s toxic sludge pool until those are secured?
#Alumina21
@CiaranCuffe@KitMurray 1/2 There are alternative markets for Irish Alumina. Supply was barely keeping up with demand (see price increase) before Iran closed the strait, and a global shortage is now predicted. But the Russian owners will threaten to fire the employees when…

@TullMcAdoo Thank you @TullMcAdoo
We needed some good news. And I’m a bit flummoxed that Ireland hasn’t learned the Russian lesson from the US. Every country that accepts their $ and influence will turn to shite. They are the best at using propaganda to divide & conquer.
@realLangerDan@Charlenezqe@SocialRightsIRL I’ve written to an Irish MEP about the environmental concerns too.
#Alumina21, and I learned about on the https://t.co/UTFmm17mxn site. And it helps to find other sources reporting on the same, like I did here.
