Chevron is putting $7 BILLION into Venezuela and plans to more than double production toward 600,000 barrels/day.

Why now?

Because the rules changed.

Contract economics improved.
Legal protections improved.
Dispute mechanisms improved.
Maduro is gone.

Capital follows confidence.

And that is the part people are missing.

Venezuela went from an investment graveyard to attracting billions in serious energy capital.

Chevron expects production costs below $20/barrel.

Then there’s the separate historic U.S.-linked agreement covering roughly 65 BILLION barrels of Venezuelan reserves - larger than America’s current proven domestic reserve base.

Now connect that to Iran.

When Hormuz gets squeezed, oil spikes.

Brent just jumped to roughly $95/barrel as U.S.-Iran fighting intensified.

That means higher fuel.
Higher freight.
Higher food costs.
Higher costs across the economy.

So no - America First energy policy was NEVER just “DRILL, BABY, DRILL” as a bumper sticker.

It’s a geopolitical operating system:

🇺🇸 Secure the Western Hemisphere.

⛽ Put nearby heavy crude into Gulf Coast refineries built to process it.

💰 Pull capital out of hostile and unstable systems and back toward America.

📜 Make contracts mean something.

🚢 Reduce dependence on oil moving through chokepoints thousands of miles away.

🇨🇳 Reduce Chinese and Russian leverage over strategic resources.

💵 Protect American economic and geopolitical power.

That’s why Venezuela matters.

That’s why Iran matters.

That’s why U.S. production matters.

Policy shifts first.
Then capital shifts.
Then production shifts.
Then markets shift.

Trump isn’t simply trying to pump more oil.

He’s attempting to redraw the energy map of the Western Hemisphere around the United States.

That is energy dominance.
