It's hard to keep an open mind if you don't have an open heart.
You don't have to agree with what people think to learn from how they think. You don't have to share their identity to be curious about what shaped it.
Treating people with civility is a prerequisite for discovery.
@jessiguenther Took my kids to see Westside Story (cause I got to pick for my bday). All they talked about was Spiderman and why I didn’t pick better. I cried with the 9 other people in our theater…so kind of the same as you🤣 #spiderman Next!

When I have done the most growing in my career/life it’s because I was willing to receive feedback. I’m not always in this place, because it’s hard. And not all feedback is true but if I trust the source it’s worth knowing💙
When people ask for your feedback, it's a mark of respect. They value your knowledge, skill, or taste.
When they don't hesitate to give you feedback, it's a sign of trust. They have faith that you'll take it as an opportunity to grow, not a threat to your ego.

#Vulnerability can be simply saying, “I don’t know” or “I need help”. And yet, most humans fight this as if the rest of us have it all figured out🤷🏻♀️ Like they’ll be the only one without an answer or in need of help. #honesty#trust#humility#connection
