La pintura se hundió.

Pasé el dedo y se desprendió un trozo entero.

Debajo estaba la pared negra de humedad.

Moví el armario.

Detrás había una mancha enorme que llegaba casi hasta el suelo.

Lo extraño era que el resto de la habitación estaba recién pintado.

Llamé a un técnico antes de hacer nada.

Me dijo que aquello no había aparecido en una semana.

Llevaba bastante tiempo ahí.

Entonces entendí por qué el piso estaba mucho mejor pintado al marcharse que cuando había entrado.

No era un favor.

Era una forma de tapar lo que esperaba que yo no mirara.

Saqué fotos de todo y le escribí.

Su primera respuesta fue:

"Pensé que con la pintura quedaría solucionado".

Y ahí estaba la diferencia.

Arreglar algo y conseguir que durante cinco minutos parezca arreglado no son lo mismo.

These rare and highly protected birds only layed their first egg yesterday
