🇧🇷 🕊️ | We’re saddened to hear of the passing of Brazil legend Brito, yesterday.
One of the toughest defenders in Brazilian history, Brito was a key figure in Brazil’s 1970 World Cup win, playing every single minute as Brazil won what many consider the greatest World Cup of all time as one of the greatest national teams of all time.
A fierce competitor, he was famously suspended for a year after punching a referee during a game between Vasco da Gama and Botafogo.
Brito was renowned for his physical conditioning. He recorded some of the best fitness results in Brazil’s 1970 World Cup preparations, topping the endurance tests at nearly 31 years old, and according to folklore, even managed to break a gym machine during training camp.
Rest in peace, World Champion. 🇧🇷🏆
His father came to my dad's burial in mushin, Lagos. his father is such a Good man. I can vividly remember he donated 500k when he came to wish my family condolences. 🙏 happy for him
3/ His response?
He asked how many animals I had eaten this past week and whether I was a “second-hand murderer” because animals are slaughtered for food.
Then he asked:
“Wouldn’t you agree that a cow or pig crying and screaming as its throat is slit has significantly more consciousness than an 18-week old fetus?”
He is wrong to compare cows and pigs to babies in the womb.
That is not a serious moral argument.
It is a deflection.
