A family member recommended me using ylang-ylang oil for an AFIB condition I was dealing with. This was several years ago and while I didn't find it effective in my case for AFIB I did find another valuable use.

I have always went through times where I would have very intense and sometimes violent dreams. Usually not what I would call a nightmare but intense. I would wake up frustrated or scared, never mad that I can remember.

Researching ylang-ylang oil, I knew about its calming effects. My wife not wanting me to use a diffuser so I thought of something else to try. I've used a CPAP for sleep for years and did not like putting water in the reservoir so I put a small piece of paper towel in with a few drops of ylang-ylang oil. I would use the same piece of towel for weeks. The difference was immediate and long lasting. Wanting to use the least amount that would be effective I kept cutting back until I was only putting a couple drops every few weeks. And then I quit for some months, year, I don't know. If I have a couple nights intense dreams I would do it again with same results.

A couple of takeaways; Only 2 or 3 drops worked better than more. Once I had broken the intense dream cycle it didn't come back for sometimes quite a while.

You could take that up a couple steps in power and consider that President Trump is the opposite and trying to govern with the hand he actually has and not with the hand he wishes he had. Whereas Mamdani is trying to govern with a budget he wishes he had and not the one he actually has. Dem's are going to do their best to hide the catastrophe coming until after the Midterms, maybe successfully with MSM in their pocket.

I'm not sure what the best path forward for Cuba is and Pope Leo XIV doesn't have either the strength of character or wisdom to sway any of the decisionmakers.

I also don't think that Democracy forced from the top down like the US invading or some other way to take out the Cuban Leadership would work. Left leaderless they would devolve into another Haiti. Other option is to make them like Puerto Rico, and we don't need another one of those.

I do like the idea of blockading them from trading with any country outside of our hemisphere, even those we are friendly with and including tourism. A lot of European Elites vacation in Cuba, could even be considered a State Sponsored Epstein Island for those that have the money. Of course, the same could be said for a lot of places in the world but that is a different conversation.

In a true SHTF situation where we have a total collapse of government, economic and social order those in the cities and without any means would not just quietly sit down and starve. After they had preyed on each other to the fullest extent, they would abandon the cities in groves to prey on those not yet starving. If you don't think this possible then think about how many things we are seeing today that a short few years ago we wouldn't have thought possible.

Eight years of George Bush is what gave us the first 4 years of Barack Obama. Republican Power Elites nominating Romney gave us the second 4 years of Obama. Bill Clinton welcoming China into the WTO and NAFTA also played into the mix. Clinton only advanced relations with China started under Nixon. And don't forget Vietnam. American interest have been sucking hind tit for decades.

@Lapleopards @JonathanTurley If you're actually curious do a Wikipedia search for "Joseph McCarthy" and "McCarthyism" during the late 1940's and into the 1950's. Had he stopped with eradicating Communism from Academia he might even be remembered fondly today, but he didn't stop there.

I have always wondered how things might have turned out much differently if Joseph McCarthy had concentrated on University Teachers, finished that purge and left the entertainment industry out of his sights. That he got drunk on his own power and left the professors in place that were teaching Kent State students. Of course, Democrats getting drunk on their power and sticking us in the quagmire of Vietnam didn't help.
