☢️You remember? Google optimized Shor's algorithm. The algorithm that breaks asymmetric cryptography (RSA, elliptic curves) once you have a quantum computer with enough Qubits.

The US government blocked the paper. So Google published a Zero Knowledge proof instead: a mathematical proof that they have the result, without revealing how. Cryptographic sorcery 🧙

But the Internet is sneaky. Someone launched a contest to re-discover the result with AI. The LLM searches a huge space of circuits (each one a candidate optimization of Shor's), and tests whether it beats the previous best. The clever part: they use the ZKP verifier as the reward function. No false positives, and it turns out to be a very efficient signal.

In less than 2 days, the community re-discovered Google's result !!!

🔔15 days later, the LLMs are still improving it. They're already 44% ahead of Google.

Hard to say where this stops, ie. what the true minimum quantum complexity for Shor's is. But we will not close the full gap. You still need a Quantum Computer with a relatively large number of qubits. The only thing that changed is that this number drops a little every day, and it has been dropping for 15 days straight.

أنجزت تعريب واجهة Hermes Desktop، وقدّمته كمساهمة رسمية إلى مستودع Hermes Agent.

هذا العمل لا يقتصر على ترجمة كلمات فقط، بل يضيف تجربة عربية حقيقية داخل التطبيق:

✅ إضافة اللغة العربية كخيار رسمي في الواجهة
✅ دعم اتجاه RTL حتى تظهر الواجهة بشكل طبيعي للمستخدم العربي
✅ تعريب صفحات الإعدادات والتبويبات الداخلية
✅ تعريب المزودين والحسابات
✅ تعريب أدوات ومفاتيح API
✅ تعريب MCP والمحادثات المؤرشفة
✅ تعريب منطقة الإجراءات الحساسة Danger Zone
✅ إضافة اختبارات للتأكد من أن التعريب لا يكسر الواجهات الحالية

لماذا هذا مهم؟

لأن أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي مفتوحة المصدر يجب أن تكون متاحة وسهلة الاستخدام لمجتمعات أكثر، وليس فقط لمن يجيد الإنجليزية.

اللغة العربية يستخدمها مئات الملايين، ودعمها بشكل صحيح يحتاج أكثر من ترجمة نصوص؛ يحتاج احترام اتجاه القراءة، وضبط الواجهة، والتأكد من أن التجربة كاملة ومفهومة.

الهدف من هذه المساهمة هو جعل Hermes Desktop أكثر قرباً للمستخدمين العرب، سواء كانوا مطورين، باحثين، فرق تقنية، أو مستخدمين يريدون تجربة AI Agent قوية بلغتهم.

تم فتح Pull Request رسمي للمراجعة وبانتظار الموافقة بحول الله.

خطوة صغيرة، لكنها مهمة، نحو حضور عربي أقوى في أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي مفتوحة المصدر.

ما رُوي عن عليٍّ رضي الله عنه

●قال: إذا مرض أحدُكم فليسألْ امرأتَه أن تعطيَه ثلاثةَ دراهم أو نحوها، فليشترِ بها عسلاً، وليأخذ شيئاً من ماء السماء، فيشرب ذلك، فيجتمع له هنيئاً مريئاً وشفاء مباركاً. ..

وهـو يتأول قول الله تعالى { فإن طبن لكم عن شيء منه نفسا فكلوه هنيئا مريئا }

وجاء في تفسير الآلوسي (4/200) :
أن رجلاً جاء إلى علي رضي الله عنه:

○قال: اذهب فاستوهب منها شيئاً من مالها طيِّبة به نفسُها، ثم اشتر به عسلاً، ثم اسكبْ عليه من ماء السماء، ثم اشربْه، فإن الله تعالى يقول في كتابه

في مال الزوجة:
{ فإن طبن لكم عن شيء منه نفسا فكلوه هنيئا مريئا }

ويقول في العسل:
{يخرج من بطونها شراب مختلف ألوانه فيه شفاء للناس }

ويقول في المطر:
{ونزلنا من السماء ماء مباركا }

فإذا اجتمعت البركة والشفاء والهنيِّ والمريِّ شُفيتَ إن شاء الله.

Together with UC Berkeley we are announcing the laser phase plate - a breakthrough in atomic resolution imaging. This is the brightest continuous wave laser in the world, 100 million times the intensity of the surface of the sun.

Phase contrast plays an important role in microscopy, but it was thought close to impossible for electron microscopy, where it would require interfering with an electron beam. Holger Mueller and Robert Glaeser proposed exactly this using a standing wave laser. It has taken over 15 years to make this a reality. Biohub partnered with UC Berkeley and Mueller to support this work and to engineer and build the technology.

Contrast has been the critical barrier to achieving atomic resolution imaging of the cell. In cryo-electron tomography, a cellular imaging technology that uses electron microscopy, the low contrast makes it impossible to resolve anything but the largest proteins within their cellular context. The laser phase plate removes that barrier.

With advances in AI this breakthrough in contrast will start to open up a new frontier in structural biology, that will allow us to see the molecular machines of the cell, and how they assemble into far more complex and dynamic systems, and understand how they work.
