NEWS RELEASE: A man was arrested for continuous sexual abuse of a child victim under 14 years of age on August 10, 2022.

Investigators received the information regarding the possible sexual assault of a child on August 10, 2022.

Shirk was arrested and booked into the Midland County Jail without incident. Shirk is charged with Sexual Abuse of a Child Continuous, Victim Under 14 Years of Age.

Through hard work and dedication, investigators with the Criminal
Investigation Division identified the injured male. Investigators commuted over 300-
man hours to this tireless investigation.

NEWS RELEASE: 2 fugitives connected to July Shooting in Midland County arrested. The last 2 fugitives from a shooting that happened on 7/17/2022 in Midland County were arrested by Gulf Coast Task Force for Aggravated Robbery.
