Great news, 7 Scottish Labour councillors were elected in Midlothian. (Left to right) Stevie Curran, Kelly Drummond, Bryan Pottinger, Margot Russell, Derek Milligan, Russell Imrie and Willie Mcewan. Congratulations!!!!!! #ScottishCouncilElections@ScottishLabour
The Polls are now closed. Massive thank you to everyone that delivered leaflets, knocked on doors, stuffed envelopes, made phone calls, made donations, and voted for us. You are truly amazing. The count starts tomorrow morning. #ScottishCouncilElections
As the final day of campaigning comes to an end, a huge thank you to all our amazing @ScottishLabour candidates and members.
I’m so proud of you and the campaigns you are running.
Good luck with the final push tomorrow! Let’s build the future, together!
We’ve been out collecting signatures today for our petition. Please oppose the SNP Plan to charge anyone staying in Midlothian to drive to ANYWHERE in Edinburgh

In 2017 Labour pledged to provide another 1000 Council homes over the next 5 years. True to our word, despite the difficulties of Covid and lockdowns, where works were halted, we are on track to deliver 1060 in total. #VoteLabour
As promised in our manifesto commitments, 5 years ago Midlothian Labour reintroduced the Police Community Action Teams in 2017.
This has brought huge benefits to local communities from having 14 additional police officers working with the Council to prioritise their activities.
Labour’s Stephen Curran said: “At recent Council meetings the SNP councillors have made it clear that they would prefer to spend the money on council community safety staff. Labour believes we need police officers with real power to protect our communities”
Great afternoon on the doors in Midlothian with @Kelly_ScotLab and Hazel Flanagan.
Some real anger at SNP/Tory inaction in the face of the cost of living crisis.
Great to visit Midlothian Advice and Resource Centre with @AnneliseDodds and Labour councillors @MargotRussell11, Stephen Curran.
This is a vital service that does so much for the community.
