🚨 Tasmania, wake up. Today’s Examiner: Activist Phillip Cox is pushing to legalise brothels in Tasmania via petition, claiming our 2005 laws are “outdated and dangerous.” The Greens are on board – their leader Dr Rosalie Woodruff says “Sex work is work” and a review is “significantly overdue.”

The same Greens who struggle to define “women” now want to turn Tasmania into what UN Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem has warned against: a “pimp state” that profits from normalising prostitution as a system of violence and exploitation against women and girls. @UNSRVAW

Cox points to Victoria and places like Gotham City brothels. That’s the one plagued by coercion allegations (workers pressured into unprotected sex, withheld pay/passports), raids, and lewd mobile billboard ads – including the recent sexist “Ditch the Witch” campaign targeting Premier Jacinta Allan. @jeremyrockliff @GuyBarnett

Tasmania’s current laws allow independent sex workers but ban brothels and third-party profiteering for good reason: to protect women from exploitation, criminal gangs, and the demand that fuels it. We’ve seen the failures interstate – why import them here?

Women and girls deserve safety in our state, not to be sold as commodities. Demand evidence-based policy that puts women first – not ideology that can’t even define sex.

Please write to your Greens member and tell them to stop trying to sell women into sexual exploitation. We had enough of your nonsense!

One of my favourite encounters on Dartmoor.
These two young Chinkwell foals spent the morning chasing, nudging and playing together high up on Chinkwell Tor, with the beautiful patchwork landscape around Widecombe stretching out below them.

It's moments like these that remind me why I never tire of wandering the moor. Every herd has its own characters, and the youngsters are always full of curiosity, energy and mischief.

Beyond creating wonderful images, these native Dartmoor ponies play an essential role in conservation grazing, helping to shape the landscape, encourage biodiversity and maintain the rich mosaic of habitats that make Dartmoor so special.
