This week we've launched our brand-new Digital Collections 🎉
The platform allows everyone to browse over 10,000 records including library items and herbarium specimens online for free!
This project was made possible thanks to funding from @HeritageFundUK 🙏
American Agriculturist’s article about our research “The severity of a #FireBlight outbreak is determined by the interaction of resistance genes in the #Apples, the growth stage of host trees, the genetics of the fire blight pathogen strain & environment” https://t.co/W2BySIRKmu
Pollen for crosses. Collect blossom clusters @ pink. With a sharp blade slice thru the blossom about 1/3 the way up the sepal. Sieve thru a screen. Ripen until dehiscent w/warm light. When pollen is observed the anthers/pollen can be placed in a pill bottle for the field.
Join Us! This is a great way to network and learn in the field from your peers and other recognized fruit tree professionals. The Tour Committee is finalizing the itinerary and stops. A detailed itinerary will be available soon! https://t.co/lBuekJppvT
Will my fascination with #GeneticDiversity ever go away? This single picture takes me to the imagination and stories about nature, human history, & culture from east Asia, Central Asia to Caucasus, Europe to North America!
#CropWildRelatives#Apples
Mooie appelstruik op (matig) sterke onderstam met breed open vaasmodel. Goede bereikbaarheid, rijke oogsten en weinig ziektes. Zou wat mij betreft prima voor extensieve biofruitproductie door kunnen!

Our newly published article (first look) in Phytopathology: We have evaluated 174 Malus accessions and identified novel sources of genetic resistance to two major fungal diseases of #Apples ; #PowderyMildew & #FrogeyeLeafSpot#GeneticDiversity
