Even me as a doctor, I'm scared of giving oxygen at times.
Not because patients don't need it.
But because the bill can some times kill faster than the illness itself🫩.
In some centers, you pay for Oxygen per cylinder or per hour.
Both options are very expensive.
As I've always said, as long as our healthcare is majorly pay out of pocket, nothing is really going to change.

Toilet Infection
No one knows exactly what it is.
It is a vague term used for most genital complaints; from UTI to vaginitis to PID. Often attributed to the use of dirty toilets.

Jedi²
There is no universal definition.
It is the term used for any tummy upset and back pain; from diarrhea to dyspepsia to lower back pain. Once there is a tummy upset, think Jedi².

Neither term is medically defined, which makes different conditions sound the same, bluring proper diagnosis.

If lining the toilet seat with toilet paper gives you peace of mind, please do. But when you come to the doctor, don't come with a diagnosis.

- Doctors always say this because it’s the truth.
- The itch after using the toilet could be from scabies or any other mite.
- UTIs most times come from yourself, which is why wiping from front to back is encouraged. Some can also come during intercourse
- The sudden discomfort could be because of number two or it could be psychological too.
- You can sit on it if you want but be wary about scabies and not UTI/STIs.

I spoke to an emergency medicine pharmacist working in the US and it was eye opening.
He told us about a patient's case with intense tachycardia and how he made the call on the dosing of the drug with the nurse and doctor following his lead and I realised the Nigerian healthcare system is apocalyptic because it is controlled by Nigerian doctors.

In the Nigerian hospital setting the doctor wants to do everything, they don't let any other profession specialise and increase the depth of their knowledge.

We need to do better for our patients, everything can't rely on one profession.
